Did you get the floods or the spot beams? I have the floods on my 4Runner and I hardly ever use my brights anymore. I love them.

2x2 floods. I wired them straight into my brights so they're operated by the headlight switch.

I want to wire mine into the parking lights so I can have them on anytime the parking lights are on. They are wired into the low beams now (port side harness) and go off when I hit the brights, and they are about as bright so I want them on with my brights too.

Super easy. I literally just hooked up the power side to the bright signal side and ran the ground to the body. Turn the brights on, bam, LEDs.

I also remembered that I have no dash lights but I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't put a dimmer switch in. The circuit is completed through the dimmer.

My crew chief (Matt) started working on the cage. It looks pretty awesome! I'll take some in progress/finished pics when I can. I also looked at repositioning the seats. Basically there was about a 2" block in the back and a plate in the front. Not sure if it would be better or easier to try to swap seats but given the time crunch I'm just going to re-mount the ones I have. The seating position seems a lot better with them mounted lower. Also my head just barely missed the cage with the seat there. Fantastic! No concussions! (Hopefully :D)

The hoop is in and tacked in place. The biggest problem so far seems to be the fitment of the plates on the floor. Body mounts are in the way, for one. So after some careful notching I think they're all in place. I'll try to get some more pics as it comes together.

Edit: Helps if you actually include the picture...

Not saying I'm right, but I am saying I don't remember anything other than red dials with black rings on minitrucks. The old ones on fj55s were gold with natural aluminum outer rings.

Pretty sure the ones that say "ASCO" are blue (79-80?) and the later ones that say "AISIN" are red black. The LCs had gold dials, or so I'm told.

The bolts that hold the dial on see Zero load so you could install them w nylon bolts of you so desired.

However a clean hub to lockout surface w a dry OEM gasket is critical. OEM studs and cone washers are fine as long as the dowels are still tight.

The cage is coming together. It's all tacked in. Just need to finish the welds and throw on some paint.

I'm really impressed with the quality of the 4xinnovations cage. I will def order my tube doors from them after I (and my wallet) recover from GSMTR.

Dunno if their tube doors already come with them, but they have an option for what I call a "slam latch". Get it if you can; you'll be happy being able to close your tube doors without having to manually operate the latch.

They already come with some fancy latches. I believe they use the factory strikers too?

And, yes, the grab handle is pink. Matt wanted to paint the whole cage pink but I had to throw out a veto on that. I'm going with: it's for girls to hold on to, of guys if they're scared. :hillbilly:

(Funny thing is, that's the wifey's designated spot and she hates pink.)

So you just gotta get the seats back in and you're ready for the trail(er)? Or is that already done too?

That was FAST work on the cage. Me thinks you no wait til after hours for that. :hhmm:

Done. I'm ready. Already got all my stuff packed except for food of course. Now I'm just impatiently waiting.

Matt put the cage in for me. He has a welder and actually knows how to weld (unlike me).
