Did a little more work on the hubs. Brought them home and cleaned them up (mostly anyway) and threw a coat of paint. Someone may correct me here but I believe the bases were originally gold. The dials were originally blue I'm pretty sure. It's possible that someone else has repainted them but I doubt it.

AND before anyone asks, of course I didn't paint them near the truck. I painted them on the cardboard up on the street and then just brought them down after they dried a bit.

Def not my best work but it will do for now. :grinpimp:

Blue and gold... I didn't know that.

Blue and gold... I didn't know that.

I tried to Google some pictures to verify but I couldn't find any. All the pictures are of them all beat up like mine were or already repainted. Most of the repainted ones are blue and black or red and black. The only reason I say that about mine is that there was some really old silver/gold/??? paint on the outside part. Hard to say. The middle parts were def blue.

I think the blue/ gold would be cool. A little different look from all the red and black out there.

Whenever I get them powdered I'm going to try to go back original or at least as close as possible.

Found this pic on Google images... Looks like gold to me...

Land Cruisers had Gold dials, early mini Trucks had Blue dials and the later mini trucks and IFS trucks had Red dials.

The inside was def blue. I was referring to the outside part. Looked kinda gold or silver.

Well, I don't like how the blue turned out so I'm probably going to do the dials over. Haven't decided if I just might do a darker blue or what.

Well you did black outer's instead of the gold! Gotta add a little bling to that puppy :grinpimp:

I meant the inside part. I'm not so sure I could pull off the gold with spray paint and have it not look terrible.

So here's my new list:

Oil change - DONE

Hubs - Pulled and disassembled. Need to clean up and paint (or send to ACC for powder?)

Valve cover gasket - That thing is pouring. Going to replace it and the half moons.

LED lights - Going to install and wire. DONE

Roll cage - 4xinnovations DOM here, waiting to be installed

PS return hose - tightened the clamp, going to add an additional clamp

Rear u-joint

U-bolts - left the original bolts and just swapped out the nuts. The u-bolts were completely loose when I set the weight on the springs. Not good!

Add-a-leaf
- Going to wait on this.

CB stuff - Dan

Spare tire - Steve

Updated.

Updated.

Really all that's left is just the valve cover gasket, reassemble the hubs, and put the cage in. :grinpimp:

O-rings came in for the hub dials. Just need to re-paint and reassemble. I'm going to stay after work tonight and slap that valve cover gasket on.

Hubs are back together. I couldn't find a blue that I liked so I just painted them red. I know it's not the right color for the early dials but... meh. It will do for now. Just gotta stick them back on.

I'm also going to stay this evening and do the valve cover gasket.

Then the last thing is the cage. I'm getting some help from a couple guys in the shop for the welding part. I need to relocate the seat mounting as well. More on that later.

I also went ahead and did the valve cover (super easy on a 22RE) and found something suspicious...

I'm not saying that this ISN'T a 240,000 mile motor but...

It sure does look clean. Someone has obviously been here before too.

Lots of little scratch marks where someone has de-sludged the valve cover...

Rebuilt motor maybe? :hhmm:

Yep, definitely clean under there for a 200k engine. If you really want to know how well it was gone thru you can check the end of the valve adjusters to see what the wear pattern looks like.

Yeeeaaahhhhh... I'm not that concerned. It could have been completely covered in sludge and I still would have just left it. This is a beater man.

Oh yeeeaaaahhhhh.... I forget sometimes. :grinpimp:

My other hardware came today so I went ahead and bolted up the other LED light. Man those suckers are bright! I think I might angle them outwards a little (like, point them away from each other). I also neatly zip tied up all the unused harnesses that have been hanging around my feet since I did the RE swap.

Now all that's left is the cage!
