Got the tub pack on the chassis after sorting a few things out underneath. Rewired the sensors for the gearbox after cutting the wires to get the gearbox off the last time. Also welded a threaded plate to the battery tray to take the battery clamp, replacing my cable ties.

Finished the headboard off too, screwing the last macrocarpa boards in place.

Happy how it's sitting, got to sort some body bolts out as my old ones are shot. Good to get some space back in the garage. Trying to decide which way to head now, fix and paint the back panel or do the front guards.....

A mate turned up this morning after doing a 7-800km road trip in his HJ45. All good apart from a few oil leaks and a heater core springing a leak. It was the truck first long run after sitting for a few years. So least he knows where to start replacing seals now.

Just read this from the beginning - excellent job! I've just started working through a 40. Hopefully this one can be a quick job as next I have to try to make one 45 out of two heaps!

Keep up the awesomeness.

Thanks, trying to finish before Christmas.

Ordered new nuts and bolts from over land metric, they turned up yesterday and started putting a few things back in like the peddle box, brake booster, throttle pedal.

Got mostly stainless for the outside but got a few packs of yellow zink bolts for other spots. Really happy how they look so ordered some more as I used half of them last night, the way this build is going I might as well go all new hardware :) Looks nice and save me painting bolts.

Attached a few bits to my truck, pedals, steering wheel, clutch master, brakes, fuel tank.

Test fitted my old guards along with the fibreglass ones, will take sone time to get tyem to fit right.

Started her up to, started first pop after sitting for 3 months.

Ran well and the oil pressure shot up which was good. Need to finish the other panels now.

Found some time to start the panel work on my back panel. Been putting it off was i know who much of a pain in the ass it would be. Passandgers side us mostly done, rebuilt the pillar ànd the corner after stripping out my last attempt.

Needs a tidy up with the flap disk and a bit of filler here and there.

20180102_133658.jpg

Currently working on the drivers side which was a bit worse. Cut out all the holes and thin areas and built it back up.

20180102_113633.jpg

Still lots to do......

20180102_124404.jpg

Came out quite well after a full day's work.

20180102_204604.jpg

Shot a couple of coats of primer after tidying things up.

20180102_203159.jpg

Still requires a bit of filler and sanding before primer filler/top coat.

20180102_203204.jpg

Will seam seal tomorrow after work then tidy the panel up. Got the doors to sand too so may try and get them both done for the weekend. Can assemble the cab then.

Found some more time to reassemble my windscreen and surround. Ran new wires up to the wiper and light.

20180113_131121.jpg

Wired up my 24v to 12v inverter to get the blower and wipers working again. Blowers fine but the wipers only have one speed which is strange.

Done some more panelwork but don't have the pictures. I am looking forward to next weekend as i am picking up my new pup, a yellow Labrador which is exciting.

Finished bodywork on my doors, not completely straight but good enough for my build. Re Shot etch primer then primer filler on the outside.

Will resand tonight and hopefully shoot top coat on Tuesday. Should finish the bodywork on my back panel so I can paint that too.

New pup Jess is small and cute, this was about 2 weeks ago. She is about 5kg now and growing fast.

Got home after work and sanded down the doors again. Shot 4 coats of top coat and came out ok.

Drivers door is good but I can still see a few top many dings in the passandgers one. Ok for the moment, may come off again in the future.

Made progress over the Easter weekend after quite a bit of inactivity. Jobs that I had been putting off. Replace the front u bolts and put an axle and cv in the left side of the front diff. Pain in the ass to do......

20180401_165531.jpg

Spend quite a bit of time on my tunnel. Had to make it clear the gearbox and work with the levers. Had to fix a bit of rust in a few places too. Ended up cutting the gearstick and t case lever to change the angles.

20180402_121206.jpg

Happy how things came out, looks fine after a bit of soundproofing.

20180402_154142.jpg

Put the fuel tank back in and the seats, hopefully the last time they have to come out. Gave her a run down the road, fired up first time and still happy with how nice the engine sounds.

After not doing anything for 6 months I finally got my ass into gear and got quite a bit done. Doors are fully assembled, was a pain to get the quarter light seals in but worked it out in the end. Glad I bought toyota OEM seals and bits as everything fitted as it should

Finished bogging and sanding my back panel, took a while but happy with the result. Painted the inside this evening but ended up with a couple of runs so waiting till the morning before sanding and two further coats on the inside before painting the outside.

Painted the inside of the bonnet, quick job as no one really sees is. Got bog work to do on the outside tomorrow while other paint dries.

Dug my new set of OEM side steps out of the roof, prep for paint is really quick when you only have to do a quick sand.

Also worked on the bits that site on top of the guards (anyone know the correct name?), welded up some other badge holes and a random hole and cracks. Bogged, primed and painted. Inside had two coats but another two for the outside in the morning.

Trying to do a big push now to get things done, currently Friday of a 4 day weekend so have a bit of time in the next few days. Guards are at the sandblasters and will be back next week. Hopefully will get everything painted apart from the guards over the weekend. Will finish painting the back panel tomorrow and start reassembling the cab. Will have to stick the headliner in too.

Aprons.

Made more progress, back panel is done. Painted and on along with the roof. Stuck the headliner in too, tricky job.

Got the right hand door seal on but opened the left hand one and it was another right.....might have to get back to all4x4 about that one. Even says left on the bag.

New badges and indicators on the aprons. Going shooting Sunday morning and the garage needs a good tidy up so might not get much done.

Looking great Tom, might want to double check that bezel before the bezel police show up mate. :hmm:
