Good stuff, really like what you did with the front fenders. You had me at the Banquet can.
Thank you! The fenders were already cut when I got the body so I did what I could with what I had. I’m pretty happy with it. Colorado cool aid is my go to garage beer.

Current picture as of today. Recently picked up a bestop soft top and a complete hard top with matching doors. The hardtop needs some fiberglass repair and I’ll do that before next winter. The soft top will get me by til then and I’ll sell it after that. I drive it nearly every day and the soft top is flappy and annoying at any speed over 45. I did just put all new felts, weatherstrip and window runs in the doors and it made a huge difference rattle reduction. Still can’t wait for spring when I can take all this crap off. lol

Future plans for this are to get it trail worthy and try and make the Rubithon event in 2026. Still needs diff lockers installed, front drive shaft built and rocker protection. We’ll see how it goes.

I like what you did with the rear spring hangers. That extra lateral plate is not something I’ve seen before, but immediately hit me with a ‘HEY’ lightbulb. Did you weld the inner and outer channels together to reinforce that area as well?

Thank you! Yes I did.

Mark, you siggested I weld gusset plates on those hangers to frame years ago, worked well.
Whats with the square holes in frame ? are they all like that and I just havent noticed ? or is it a year thing ?

Finally got a front driveshaft built and took it out on some rocks today for the first time. Worked way better than I thought it would. Especially for only being locked in the front. Still running an open rear diff. Surprisingly the 1.96 low range np205 and 4.10 gears worked decent in the rocks. Good enough to run mild trails and an occasional rubicon trip.

Registration opens this Sat. Look forward to seeing you this year

Taking tips from the wrangler crowd now are we, lol

Had a great time at the hammers. Didn’t do a lot of rock crawling because it’s not quite setup for it yet. Really want an Atlas t-case with 4:1, rear locker, belly skid and 37’s. Hopefully by next year. Still had a blast cruising around the desert with my friends and watching the racing. Put a lot of miles on the 40 and it never skipped a beat.
