Picked up this frame and body in February of 2024 because the hood patina caught my eye and because it was dirt cheap. I’ve built/worked on a handful of FJ40’s over the years but never my own. I just wanted something I could cruise around town with maybe an occasional Rubicon trip. I also needed a project that was relatively affordable that could keep me busy while going through a tough divorce. Leftover, used and free, parts were the only way I could come close to putting something like this together. Engine and transmission were given to me by close friend who wasn’t using them and needed them off his property, front and rear axle’s were pieced together using leftover parts from previous builds. FB marketplace transfer case, seats, wheels/tires, soft top, EFI and a bunch of other miscellaneous things. I now have something I can have fun in that’s mine. It still has a long way to go to refine a few things but I can hop in it and drive it anytime I want. Moving forward I will try and update this thread as I move forward with the project.

Wow! This is an awesome build!! Nice work. I wish that I had left the patina on my hood. I really like that look.
