Hey folks,

I am installing the headliner in my 55 and am about to re-install the interior dome light. Can anyone tell me the factory orientation of the switch for the dome light? Is it supposed to be oriented to the drivers side?

Cheers,

Kim.

So, you all may know this truck as Wilbur.
My wife and I adopted this truck a little over a year ago. As far as I can tell, a few of the previous owners had seriously conflicting visions on what this truck should be.

I'm just beginning to go through the list of little things to deal with and then I hope to drive this piggy to the Thursday night retro shows and a weekend drive. Long term, I think this will be restored to original over time, or as close as is reasonable.

I have a question. Where would I go to get my paint colours, T1454 - Muleta Red, and T1453 - Olympus White? Can I get these in spray cans for touch up work?

Hi Kim! I think I show the dome light orientation in my build thread. When I am on my computer, not phone, I can look for you. Memory says point it towards the driver.

Today, I went crazy with compressed air and blew out every nook and cranny underneath the truck. It is amazing how much crap a clean truck will hold in some of these cross members for the body! I think I have about 20 pounds of Abilene Texas dirt and sticks and even some yarn. Must have been little critters making a home way back.

Good to get this stuff out! I'll blow it out a couple more times and then hit all this stuff with fluid film in the hopes of stopping any little bits of rust that may lurk where I can't see.

Kim, I am glad to see that Wilbur is in good hands. I had the pleasure of driving and working on it prior to your purchase. A lot of your dash, the front grill and that dome light itself are from my old 70, 71 and 78 pigs ;) I still have a lot of 55 parts if you need anything.

I was recently under my Pig doing the same in prep for undercoat!
