Drive Train

Well for now I am just going to keep the f in it. Its backed by the three speed trany. It ran a little ruff when I started restoration. I plan on having the heads worked and some new rings the compression was with in limits when i started. I have a webber carb in a box waiting for the day, with DUI hei ignition distributor, headers, starter, alt, water pump, thermostat, plugs and wires, oil pump, all gaskets. I hope it will turn the 35"s I put on her. Stock gear in rear, Should I be worried?

High steer

Cool. I wont be beating her so no worries. I looked at merlins high steer arms they look nice billet!! But I dont think they make one that will work on a 70' fj55. Jt outfitters makes some but they look cast. And kinda high $.

Cant wait!!!:bounce2: Well I will post some pic later tonight of the progress. well back to work for me.

The disk brake brackets are from jt outfitters, they work with 1984 monte carlo calibers, and a milled to fit 1990 gm 4 wheel drive truck rotor. So I just bought the brackets from them, I got the rest of the parts from auto zone. But I am not to sure that I sould of gone that route. The rotors in the center have to be milled to 4.20" not a problem I grinded the center out and it fits over the hubs, but the inside of the disk is rubbing the bracket alittle. So the inner disk needs milled as well. I cannt find a shop that can mill it down so I think I am going to have to order the rotors that jt outiffers sells already milled to fit. I wasted a day in the shop grinding the center out of a rotor that is not going to work.:bang: So it is better to spend alittle more money up front than waste time and money in the long run!! Lesson learned!!!:bang::bang::bang:
