This one looks pretty good, to my untrained eye.

Spoke to seller. He’s been selling another restored one for $35k for 8+ months so probably not going to budge much n price of this one. I was planning to swing by and inspect this one at some point when I’m in his area.....he’s north of sacto iirc.

Search gumtree Australia. Quite a few nicer ones for sale down there. Spend a few grand to RORO one home and come home with a working truck vs padding someone else’s wallet with a basket case requiring full restoration.

Put me in line for one of these $500 trucks :)

for reference....here is a 12000 AUD HJ45. after the currency exchange you are looking at about $9300 USD.

5000 AUD

6500 AUD
hj47 landcruiser ute 4×4 | Cars, Vans & Utes | Gumtree Australia Port Macquarie City - Port Macquarie | 1176443492

and many more.

So point being...why pay someone $12000 for a right hand drive truck that needs another $20,000 and million hours of work to get back on the road when you could buy a plane ticket, have a vacation in australia, pick up a used land cruiser, and ship it home and still be ahead of the game when it gets back here. See a lot of these trucks that clearly came from a place like australia where they were likely picked up for as cheap as possible and then shipped home and then jacked up the price to ludicrous amount to cash in on the rarity to the unwary USA buyer with perhaps more money than common sense.

Shipping is 3k plus, the logistics, paperwork etc. So this 45 is really 9k on us soul and has a very rare styleside bed , not common on Aussie utes. Junk 40’s sell for 10k? This truck would not need 20k put into it. Not sure why so many want a 45 sooo bad, but don’t want to pay for one? I think the rhd is the issue, if this was a lefty it would have been sold in a day.

depends if you put it in a container or go the RORO route. Container will be more expensive for sure but RORO is usually pretty reasonable. The truck in the OP ad would cost me $1500+ to ship to the East coast of the USA if I were to buy it. Likely closer to $2000 to $2500 by the time I got it here. The OP truck could be turned into a driver for probably $5k if you just want something that covers the basics...but then again there are not many people looking to spend $12000 on something to just plunk around in. $20,000 is a drop in the bucket for what a decent restoration could run....good paint alone could be $5000+.

But, I'm digressing down a rabbit hole. I'll shut up now. :)
