I find it odd as well, but like many things in cruiserland parts changed over the years and I'm sure that's the case here. I'm curious to see what you find out.
 
i have NEVER seen or heard of personally a TOYOTA Genuine part that had to be FIELD Threaded in any way ever by the consumer at any level ?
Hey Matt,
The turn signal unit in post #28 don't look threaded. I also purchased one from Toyota and it is not threaded.
 
do the 1972 Production Year folks know that they NOW have a 100% Period Correct TOYOTA Japan Spec. parts option on the Table

now ?
