So front and rear 3rds are all set up with new Nitro 4.10 gears, OEM pinion flanges, Harrop Elockers, solid pinion spacers and all new OEM ring gear nuts/bolts.

Both sides pretty much the same, maybe .01-.02 of a difference. Well within spec and plenty of life left in it.

Got my parts in today so about wrapped up with the tcase.

I am probably going to change all the bolts out though and I seem to be missing a couple from the junkyard but hey, the point here is to get mock up underway.

I got the hardware for the tcase halves and the covers in route to finish it off. Tomorrow it’s getting stuff in the chassis with the engine.

Damn, what a truck! Really beautiful work mate. FWIW, if you cut and spline the OE steering column a collapsed 70 series intermediate shaft is the perfect fit between it and the 80 box. I did it and it works a treat.

Right on, did not know that about the 70 shaft.

We did get all that stuff already though so once we get the power train all set up we can start on the steering box and best of all suspension.

Engine mounts are roughed in, more work to do on them but they are strong enough now to support the engine.

On to the trans crossmember next.

Front axle quickly centered up and set to ride height.

I don’t foresee any issues with oil pan clearances.

You can see the engine is offset slightly to the LHS-drivers. Yet plenty of room for steering column. Nice to have all the weight behind the front axle.

A 62 crossmember is pretty far out from where we need to be.

An 80-series is looking much better.

Trans crossmember is about there on this side. Again, this is an 80-series crossmember, it got shortened nearly 4” and then cut up with a 3” x 1/4” insert welded in for the angle of the actual mount.

Frame side a fair amount of more work to do but this will bolt in just like and 80-series.
