The rack looks like aftermarket? Dealer option maybe?

Here are some pics of the F motor AC bracket. The alternator is below the compressor. The bracket is custom and has a custom pulley tensioner.

x2.. i'd leave it as-is

LP we can always trade ;)

Sat down with the Mrs. and talked about the plans for the LV. I'm having a hard time deciding on what to do. When we first bought it I had planned on doing a restification on it. New paint and new interior, then upgrade the brakes and so on.

To pay homage to the original owner we were going to go with the oem two tone style and pain it orange like the image below. Decisions...decisions

i'm just speculating here, but if the rare cruiser prices keep going up.... 20 years from now someone might pay out their ears to aquire one with an original "patena".

but what is something worth if it is not for sale? :D

I can see how you might want to keep it like this... I would drive it around for a while before you do anything...

I hear ya on the pantina. My biggest concern is that there is quite a bit more humidity in the air than in Las Vegas. Although it will be in a heated garage during the wet months...it is still humid. So I'm afraid it will start to rust like I have seen so many others unless I get some paint on it and seal it up.

The original color is white on red, but the owner painted it orange and white sometime in the early seventies judging from all the historical photos I have.

I definately like the orange for some reason, and to keep with the theme we will most likely stay with that color.

My biggest concern are the window seals. They have shrunk and cracked to almost nothing. There is a 1" gap on the rear window seals alone.

I agree on the humidity concern. I brought my lv to missouri from idaho, and within 3 months there was worsening of the rust. But man, the patina on your rig just looks way too cool. Bottom line, its your truck, do what makes you and your family happy and enjoy it. I ended up media blasting mine to bare metal and then had it painted to regain the patina look without fixing any dents or anything. Not that I'm recommending that or anything, but I also liked the patina look but didn't want to lose it to rust in another 10 years, so I feel your pain.
