nice job.

So here is what I am thinking:

1FZ-FE
H151 5 speed manual transmission
part time transfer case
Retain dash shift for transfer case (custom linkages)

OME suspension
33x10.50 ATs or (BFG or Duratracks)
FJ40 disc brake front axle
70 series rear axle with integrated parking brakes

And I'll have to swap the license plates to FZJ45LV I guess....

Don't put an 80 dash in it.

:crybaby: yeah... I'm with you on that one...

I'll either try to keep the 45 gauges or do some sort of upgrade within the stock cluster dash opening. I won't cut the dash.

So plans have taken a slight turn... I am pulling the trigger on this now:

2UZ v8
H151 5 speed manual transmission
Full time transfer case with part time conversion
Retain dash shift for transfer case (custom linkages) and use FD knob to actuate the CDL

So that will make it either:
UZJ45LV
or
45LV8
or
UZJ45LV8

YIKES!

This is what I want to build...

Will need to use small (a bit smaller than shown here I think) aftermarket gauges, modified to fit and I'll need to work out the mounting but I think this would be da bomb, as the kids say...

I'd want to keep black backgrounds, white markings and red needles. The green dots are turn indicators of course.

I think using the factory turn signal indicators (located in dash not the cluster) would look better.

I like them better, but I hate that they ground through the body of the socket to the dash. Mine are intermittent as Hell.

Must be a way to add a ring terminal or tack weld and wire them to a "good" ground...

230 Chevy, 3.8L inline six was used by Chevy from 1963-1974 in cars and trucks.

I have that engine in my 1963 Bel Air

Played with the engine today and I think the carb is toast. Got it to start and run but Moving the throttle on the carb does nothing. It has been sitting all winter and i just ran it for a couple of minutes last fall... I seem to remember that there was a little throttle control then. Id like to be able to get it to work enough to move around the yard... Find a used replacement? Get a rebuild kit and hope that that helps?
