Almost finished. I added some speed holes tonite as wheel. Now I need to pull it back off and do all the final welding and finish work. Then paint, add winch, and reinstall. :grinpimp:

Mission accomplished. We found a nice swimming hole. I see why it called West Clear Creek. The water was amazingly clear. We swam and then went up higher and explored some roads and another trailhead to the canyon. Good stuff.

Your trips are definitely inspiring to getting my rig road worthy. Thanks for sharing!!

Finally got the winch all hooked up and mounted the control box. All neatly hidden behind the bumper. Forgot to take pix though.
Headed north again tomorrow to enjoy the cool temps. This over 110 crap is getting old.

Another great day up in the trees. Filled up a couple jugs at the Moonshine Spring.........spring water
:)
Then found out why the 95 road was closed. Never found a cabin I was looking for.....probably cause of the road closure. Still a great day.

This trip was EPIC. I chose the area and my friend Mark found a killer route to connect all the cool places. Once to Wikieup we hit the dirt. About 80 miles of trail later, we were back on the pavement. Some of the route was alittle rough and even scary, but we made it and the pay off was amazing. Toughest wheeling for the LX so far, but it did great.

First stop was a random mine. It had a few structures and surprisingly a very interesting mine. I dubbed it Dead Skunk Mine as we found a dead skunk inside, was not too smelly.

Next we headed to the canyon that has several large mine operations. We took the "goat trail" over to that area. It was pretty narrow and had huge drop offs. Throw in some off camber and it made for some scary sections. We made it and are all better for it....lol. I used both rock slides and smashed the rear rim center cap. Good stuff.
The first pix is looking back at the sketchy trail. I was too concerned with driving to take pix. The last few were when we got to the bottom.
