In the closeups for the bumpstops I’m seeing that the knuckles are still cut open for a cut and turn. At what point are those going to get welded?

Yup

Everything’s just tacked in place right now gotta go through the entire suspension and weld everything up
That just raises more questions, because the pinion angle looks low. I would think that a mockup would start with an angle much closer to what you intend to end up with.

I am getting closer to doing a C&T on my trail 45, so this has been on my mind a lot…for the last two years!😛 My driveshaft is a bit too short currently, since I moved the axle forward one inch. But I don’t want to put time and $$ into another shaft when I know that turning the pinion up will eat up some of that distance.

Thanks Mark. I will discuss with my fab guy.

Its being built at full bump for a linked suspension. I'm assuming he's moved it through and set pinion angle at ride height. At least, that's what should be done.

Suspension
Well, I brought up all of the concerns and got a two hour crash course on the intricacies of building/modifying a suspension for a rig like this. In short, my fab guy builds Trophy trucks for a living and one of his rigs just dominated the Baja 1000, so I do feel pretty good about what he is telling me. In short, he continues to want to hear feedback from the group because he knows there are subtleties with Toyota parts that he is not privy to, so he welcomes the commentary.

A good example is on post #353 where Mark @65swb45 mentioned "I would have cut through the standing seam in your last pic so that the brace marked #5 incorporated the sheetmetal below the wheel well..." and later talked about reinforcing the the body under the firewall to minimize deflection in the front fenders and aprons. I went ahead and followed his guidance on these and my fab guy totally agreed that it is much better after doing so.

Here are more suspension pics (to pick apart)...;)

Not sure what size tire you are running, but I that the vertical link separation on the axle side seems small.

What class / team does he build for, purely out of curiosity?

"Here are more suspension pics (to pick apart)...;)"
Laughed out loud!! When I was working as a finsh carpenter at a fairly high level (comm/institutional work), we were building someting and the forman/boss was critically questioning another carpenters work, finally the other carpenter snapped at the boss "Just let me finish, then you can pick it apart!!!"

I think of this every time I am half-way through building something and am having self doubt..
Just let me finish and then you can pick it apart!!!
