i bought a set of 5 rims recently, 4 arrived and spun true, one was bent from factory so get your tire shop to dry run the wheels on the ballancer before you install the tires...
Toyota is coming good for the bent rim...

16's on the 70... I didn't get many pics doin a solo run for 3 days.

I don't want to rain on any parade but split wheels have been outlawed in many parts of Canada.

On a good note, I have found the proper wheels at Canadian Tire of all places. Get the counter guy to go on their Keystone order site.
The size I got was 16x8" 6x5.5 with 4 inch BS. Also available in 7" wide. I hope they are fine.
79$ landed each

I have also found

I can get them from a friend who has a custom shop $110 each landed. The are sweeeeetttt. When I trash the crappy tire ones I am going with the other.

for US readers to note:

the 16" steel rims w/ part number ref above are about $80 CDN retail, but Dealer cost in the US is $80 so they run about $120 retail at US Dealers.

one of two parts I've found cheaper north of the border.

.
can you post up a link to this law? i have heard of rumours but every cop i have asked has told me it is just a rumor...
(similar to driving with bare feet is illegal)

So back to the canadian source for the wheels. NSOR north shore off road sells rock crawlers shipped to my door in edmonton around 100 each. Rock crawler makes wheels in alot of different sizes with lots of different backspacing. thinking that 16x8 with 2.5" BS should work from what I have read but don't quote me. This should allow for 12.50wide if you want.

Hey wesintl - You have bridgestone jeepservice on your 70 ? 7.5-16 ? How they handle ? Noise ? Threadwear ? Fuel economy ?

Thank.

yes, yes, not great, loud, terrible, i thought bj70's always got 22mpg us.:eek:

but off road they do great for what I do. Gravel mtn passes with hardpack dirt and a few trips to moab on the slickrock with some overland travel on dirt roads in utah. exactly what 7x16 bias ply tyres excel at.
