Saw this ad in the AutoTrader for a local 100-series. What's the story with locking diffs on these? In picture number 9, I see what looks like the rotary switch for a locking diff similar to what's on some 80s. I realize there's no solid front axle, but.....

I believe it was Slee who took the turn dial from 80 series, and has rigged it up to turn on ARB lockers, making a factory appearance. Also, I believe all 100 series have a center lock
I believe '99 is the first year that rear A/C was an option and the last year that a rear diff lock was an option. The A-Trac on the later models is pretty good.
We never see the 100-Series out on the trails though so it is hard to say how they handle the rough stuff.
Marc, are planning to skip the 80 search? Ron has been to the Puerco in his hundy. He seemed to do alright. Of course you should hear what the others with 80's say when he is not around.
I don't know. Just kicking ideas around. 320 lb-ft of torque with better fuel economy than an 80 is tempting. I'm attempting to guess what my wheeling future holds. If I stick with pretty mild stuff, a 100 might be fine for me. But I think it's easier to lift a solid axle truck with less complications than an IFS truck.
