Surprised to see that the ratio of LX/Lc was not bigger. Around here, one almost only see LXs out on the roads.
Crome doorhandles? yuck!

Ditto here. I mainly see LX's, some LC's. When I went to N. NM, I saw almost all LC's and only a few LX's, so I guess the numbers balance out according to geographical location.

Sales are dictated by production. I rarely see more than 1 new cruiser at a time sitting on dealers lots. They limit the numbers to keep pricing high. In 1985 I was at a dealer in Florida that had about 100 FJ 40s and FJ60s on the lot. These were supposed to go to South America but a slowdown forced cancellation. I was able to buy a brand new FJ 60 for $12k. Stickers were about 18k. They must have learned from that.

So, mine's a 98 with production # 14369.

It shows 98 had only 14292 made? Am I reading that right?

Or does it mean that is how many were sold, in the U.S., not necessecarily built for that year?

World-wide numbers anyone?

By applying that logic, mine was never made...:grinpimp:

Here are the worldwide numbers (download excel file). However, it is all clumped together as wagons (55/60/80/100) so I can't tell how many of the roughly 95,000 produced per year are actually 100's. Did they continue to manufacture the 80 series in Japan after '97 or was it only produced in Venezuela after '97? I dunno.

Yeah, I goofed up. The title of the thread says "Production Numbers" but the actual data I have is for "Sales." However, the worldwide numbers linked above are production numbers.

Thanks Hoser
I suppose those are numbers without the LX's.
Are there numbers available from Lexu$ too?
