OK so after searching the 100 Series forum for an hour I still can't find a good troubleshooting thread on the nonoperating rear diff on Ardenne's 100 Series. Its a 99 and has the CDL button and the Rear locking switch. CDL operates fine but the rear locker isn't engaging and the light is just flashing. I've driven in figure eights and tapped on the motor at the diff to no avail. When I turn the knob i don't hear any relays clicking but the fuse for it is good. Help

Try this:

Is my rear locker engaging?

Guys, I made what was probably s simple situation a lot worse by being: (a) a dumb ass; and (2) an impatient dumb ass. I backed my truck up to try and test out the new trailer lights; everything was working fine; I turned off the ignition, plugged in the pig tail, went to restart the car and this is what I got;

Since I obviously fried something in the starter circuit, I started with fuses. First I replaced the little starter relay in the fuse box; no joy;

So, then I looked at what appears to be a fuse box coming off the positive batt terminal.. The 100 amp "fuse" (the one labeled j/b) has (had) a little window on the top and it appeared to be blown. So I thought, I'll pop that out run up to autozone and see if they have a match. So, I started pulling. It would not come out. So I got pissed and impatient and grabbed a wrench. Crushed it into a million pieces.

After doing surgery for about 30 minutes, it appears this little component is not a removable fuse but an integrated part of this assembly because I can't get the balance of the guts out to save my life. So, yes, I have a mess and Unless you guys know an easy fix, I guess I'll get it towed to @wct49 on Monday

It comes out. There are bolts on each prong. You have to separate the the plastic fuse box to get to them. Bolts cannot be seen until box is separated.

Hidden fasteners restraining what would ostensibly be a pull-to-remove item, like other fuses and relays in the surrounding area. Sadly, I've seen too many alleged engineers who wouldn't see an issue with that... @runpmc would be justified in adjusting that oft used tag line from the Bard's Henry VI to focus on those "designing" such traps
