Thanks for the link. I remember your comments about ohms and I used Crutchfield. I should have just ordered one. Looks like a PITA.

Can I just remove the bottom and get to the speakers ?

No you need to remove the whole door panel. Its really easy to do. You can take it off in about 10 minutes...

If I remember it right the front door speakers from the 100 with JBL system are 2 Ohm. The drivers I replaced the busted ones with were 4 Ohm. They weren't quite as loud, but definitely sounded better than the busted ones.

I might have the speaker from the drivers door that looked OK, but I replaced it anyway.

Nolen,

Does your speaker now not work at all or does it rattle / buzz? It is a well-known issue for these speakers to have problems with the foam surround. If it's not working, that's another thing altogether.

The bass is roasted.

As much as you refer to food, i completely had to re-read this the correct way a second time.

CLC, let's start scouring again for hunnerds. I'm beginning to lean that direction.... 10k-14k

after the sale of both sig rigs.
I've been nosing around. Few on CL in the surrounding states in the +/- $10K range.......Be patient. One will pop up (Let everyone know the exact specs - or range of specs - you'd consider)

This '99 has less miles than my '03 (hard to tell, but it looks like it's got a rear locker):

That says 183,000 miles...you don't have that many miles on your LX do you?

I have seen lots with many less miles than that one for around 10-12K
