I understand. Where to now?

I understand. Where to now?
I'm actually looking right now at the Arizona Backroads & 4WD Trails Guide (Charles Wells & Matt Peterson).
We wanted to head to the Grand Canyon's North Rim area since last Thanks Giving break, but my shoulder kept us at home.
The problem is I do not know if it is still too early in the season to drive those trails. The N.P's website states the Visitor Center is closed until May, so I don't know what happens with the roads inside the N.P. (if they are also closed?)
I posted on the local AZ forum to see if I can get some info from the locals.
If AZ is a no-go because of closed trails, we will probably head to Big Bend.

North of I-40 just got hammered, but south of there on the Mogollon rim and north of Sedona should be clear and sweet!

Something worth checking out NE of Flagstaff are the mud falls where the little colorado joins the colorado river. We went during spring break one year after a bunch of rain and it was amazing. I think they are taller than Niagra.

Thx for the info. The Mud Falls definitely sound interesting!

I added two wooden boxes with drawers to help with packing-unpacking on the trail & campground.
They are held in place to the lower drawer system with ratchet straps. Nothing fancy.
They are also separate from one another so that I can run both or only one in case I wanted to carry a larger cooler with ice (depending on destination).

I'm very happy with the result and especially with the ease of access to the cargo.

Maiden voyage for the new boxes was Ouachita and Ozark National Forests in AR for Spring Break.

I was still nursing my broken shoulder so I didn't get out of the truck that much for photos on this trip. The results is a lack of good ones lol!

As the weather gets warmer, we headed down to Padre Island National Seashore again for some beach time. Actually the weather was perfect at the beginning of May.

And some more beach time closer to home, this time at San Luis Pass. Weather was still perfect for the beach the last weekend of May. Soon it will be too hot in TX even for the beach...

Very cool family times. Thanks for sharing.

I had changed the rear sway bar links for longer ones a while back, but I had not been able to find a source for the front.
Thanks to @REZARF 's very detailed build thread I finally found out where I could get ahold of a pair of longer sway bar links for the front of the 100 Series, so I ordered from Trail Tailor. @reevesci very nice product and fast shipping. Good work.

I really don't remember the angle of the sway bar with the oem links before the truck was lifted. These links are 2" longer than oem. My first impression out of the box was that they are too long, but once installed, there is no rubbing, no noises and the truck feels normal, so I guess the length is correct.

Swapping these was an easy task even for a 1/2 banana mechanic like me.

As of some time now I have been hearing a strange noise coming from the front suspension (driver side) when going over bumps or holes.
Was not able to pin point it for a while. I first changed the lower front shock bushing which was bad. It was a PITA to find the bushing. The part # does not appear in the dealer's catalog. After a couple of calls to ARB Customer Support, they provided me with a Party # which is 110-110-122 (Lower Mount) if anybody reading this has the same issue. (The shock is an OME 60001).

New bushing in place, but the clacking noise was still there. I managed to pin point it once it was so bad that you could hear just by the load shift when I exited the truck. Turned out that my driver side SPC UCA ball joint was bad... So bad as a matter of fact ,that when I sent Amory at SleeOffRoad (where I bought the UCAs from) a video of the noise it was making while I jumped up and down on the rock slider, he suggested not to drive the truck until it was replaced.

SPC stepped up and warranted the part even though it was way past the "official warranty" of 30k miles. As a matter of fact they sent me 2 new (improved) ones. All I paid for was a core charge which they refunded once I returned the cores and return shipping.

This was the offending ball joint. (Passenger side was good, they suggested I change it anyways for the improved version)

And now. New shoes for the upcoming summer trip to Arizona.
53k miles on the old ones and still some life left., can't complain. No real off road traction though and they where beginning to be a little scary on "deepish" puddles on pavement (an understatement during Houston's hurricane season!).
I was happy with the BFG AT KO2, so I went with the same tire and size (275/70R18)

The old one still had some life left in them after 53,000 miles.
Daily driver, 2 trips to Colorado, 3 Trips to Big Bend, 1 Trip to Moab, 1 trip to Ozark NF and plenty of trips to the beach and the TX Hill Country. I can't complain. (But the new ones are sooo quiet!!)

These are some sweet looking drawers. How are they holding up? Did you have to pay any customs duties on them?

They are holding up with no troubles. They already have about 60k miles on them. I used the same style drawers in an 80 Series with which I traveled all over South America with no problems either. I'm very happy with them and will surely use them again whenever I get a different rig. Didn't pay any custom duties that I remember. Might have been included in the FeDex invoice though.
