Has anyone seen this Link on ebay. I was just browsing ebay as I do occasionally with just a search for Land Cruiser and found this. I am just curious to read some opinions although I will always remain a septic.

Here's another Link.

If this is like previous ones, it is a probably a $0.50 resistor you could get from radio shack. You replace your temp sensor with it, so the LCs computer will think engine is always cold. It will then always run rich, theoretically giving you a miniscule amount of extra power. It might get you 1 hp and no way will it give you more mpg, if it is always running rich. You know what they say, if it's too good to be true...
Even if there were noticeable power and mpg gains (there are not), I would not do that to my LC, who knows what it will do to long term reliebility.

im gonna buy 2 of them so i can get an extra 200 mpg AND 60 MPG! hey..its on the inner-net so its gotta be true! did you see that pic of all the books in the library?!? these guys do their homework!

I agree, I agree, I agree, so how do these guys get away with this?

Howdy! Who ya gonna turn them in to, the Internet Police?? It's all Buyer Beware!! Unfortunately, some buyers don't know that. John

I think if it's a diesel chip and you are running a Cummins you may get that kind of HP increase:rolleyes:

E bay carries the same thing for Subaru Loyals, they claim 100 hp and 50 mpg, the subi came stock with about 90 hp. I wonder how many of them they have sold, somewhere someone is making money from the stupid masses.

how does one explain their reasonably high rating at 98% from over 4000 transactions though? clearly this is a scam..but why would so many people give positive feedback?

EBay's feedback is a joke. If you want your rating to go down for nothing you did - give someone a bad review and the next thing you know - there goes yours. From what I have heard - these guys are high pressure about the feedback.

I'm IN!

Screw all the nay sayers, if it's printed on the internet and Ebay has not banned them, I trust it.

I always figured that there was a way to get a minimum of 40 more HP out of my stock engine, and if I can truly get 100, then it is worth it at 10x the price. I've looked at the information provided in the Ebay link, and believe that it conclusively proves I can get at lease 30mpg out of my FZJ engine. I always suspected this was the case, and that the lack of information provided on how to do so was a conspiracy between the oil companies to hold me back.

So, I've decided to buy one and instal it this weekend to use for the African trip I am leaving for next week, instead of the extended range fuel tank I had scheduled for install this weekend. Why would I need the extended range tank and all that extra weight and expense when I can just install a $25 chip that will completely change the dynamics of how the combustion of my 14 year old engine operates?

Thanks for posting the link, I believe that if more people were trusting of valuable research and developement like this, the world would be a greener, better place.

I think you have this backwards. In the turbo crowd (where I come from) they lean out the air/fuel mixture to create a hotter/faster burn and more power. Obviously this increases the risk of knock or ping which is the combustion of the air/fuel mixture before the spark plug fires or before the piston is at or near TDC. Most cars sent to the US are detuned (set to run rich) since we have a wide range of 87 to 93 octane gas and the car companies don't want to be replacing engines for people who don't listen to their gas recomendations. 87 burns hotter and 93 burn cooler. That's why high compression and turbo (non-diesel) engines require higher octane gas to run safely.

If you could adjust the A/F mixture on the 1fz and then only use high octane gas this shouldn't be a problem. Tap your exhaust manifold and run an EGT gauge and an A/F gauge (wideband O2 sensor) to make sure everything is fine and you'll be good. I would love to run a little leaner on my truck since it smells like it's pig rich now. I just assume that's the way it was tuned from the factory.

Now I'm not saying I'd put one of these on my truck but if there was a company (IPOR, Slee, MAF) that I trusted that did the research and found out there was room to play with the A/F ratio then I'd certainly be up for it.

I'm going to buy one, not because it will help my truck but because it will make me more handsome. Ok, it will make me less ugly. Women will swoon when I walk by and not just because I've been working on my truck in the hot summer sun. I think it will also make me taller.

I saw this on ebay a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try and run lots of tests and carefully chart any increases in hp and mpg. I spent countless hours compiling all the data in order to come up with these truly accurate numbers. Here is my irrefutable proof.

This should make for an interesting install/results thread if someone is going to volunteer as a guinea pig...maybe then we could have some trusted results from a truly reputable source!

Please keep us updated (with pics of the install, true mpg results, etc.)

And all this time I thought Viagra in the radiator would help.:p
