More JB Weld?
I’m letting this second round set up. Then I’ll go ham with more. I’ll act super surprised when my mirror won’t fold or just falls off going down the highway.

Would a more robust (my opinion) SLEE aluminum front skid and the Trail Tailor creeper be a good balance between weight and protection for AHC 100's? You get the front protection from the slee and the transmission/transfer case skid from the creeper. I know it leaves the exhaust pipes unprotected and those pipes are $$$ to replace if using OEM.

Go for steel. I am running steel bumpers and a slee slider on AHC. Just get the truck in spec with better springs/torsion bars and your good to go

Yea the weight difference of steel vs aluminum is like 150-200 lbs. or the difference of 1 extra passenger, but big differences in terms of protection.

cant believe I missed out on this event ....... :bang:

... and the weight is low - as in close to the ground. I'm not a weight weenie (wait, that might only be cycling term) as evidenced by my steel wheels, but I do think about it when it's up high - hence the aluminum roof rack. For skids - steel (I mean, if I ever put skid plates under the truck)

I wouldn't bother with anything under .1875", preferably .25" for cold rolled steel. You think you are saving weight, but the thinner stuff bends too easily and makes it harder and harder to dismount/remount as it deforms.

Subbing to stay in contact for next year. Actually the October 22nd weekend in 2022 is an open slot in a month with a lot of off-roading events in this part of the country.

Southern Cruiser Crawl -- usually the first full weekend in Oct
Rendezvous in the Ozarks -- usually the second full weekend in Oct
Cruisers on the Rocks -- third weekend in Oct.

Does this work like HIH where legacy attendees have first dibs on tickets for the next event?

Im working on a system that will guarantee first dibs to previous attendees while also guaranteeing at least 25 spots for new attendees every year. I'm already super excited about COTR2!!!😎

That's a good deal and will POSITION the event for sponsorship by BIG national/international companies that look for events with NEW exposures.

The thing that COTR has that these other events do not is that it is an event made for IFS Land Cruisers. I know Rendezvous in the Ozarks is in my backyard, but it’s based out of an off road park that honestly isn’t very friendly to our IFS. It’s also full of all other makes and models of vehicles. And I think Southern Cruiser Crawl is like GSMTR in that there are all kinds of Cruisers? Meaning 80’s and other straight axle cruisers?

COTR has already cemented itself as one of the must go to events in the country for 100 and 200 series cruisers. I’m glad that it is going to land on an open weekend next year. But going forward, COTR will be THE event that people schedule around!

This was the big deal for me. GSMTR was fun, but I think there were only a handful of other 100s there. I plan on making both events again next year, but COTR is the one I would be most upset with missing due to it's focus on IFS rigs.

Cool! I would rather go to a 100/200 IFS series event anyway. We just haven't had the chance to meet in person for me to opine about events and futures.
