Got my Orion installed yesterday thanks to patrick (scotia on the board). Install was very straight forward and pretty simple. low range is a HUGE improvement over the stock t-case.

Looking into adding MT's stinger, nose guard, and sliders soon. Hopefully before the round up but it's not looking promising.

I'm hoping i can find a shop to do it in time, i really need to take a welding class so i can stop farming this work out.

Stinger is a great job to learn on

4x4 labs tie rod and drag link information. I'm putting these more in here for me than anything, i didn't find those any where on the site.

Tie rod ends ES2010R, ES2010L
Drag link ends ES2026R, ES 2027L
Moog part#'s that should cross reference anywhere.

For thick metal, you can easily just use a stick welder. I got one from NAPA that I've been using for small projects for years. Some 6013 welding rods, an old bed frame, and practice... Someone can show you in a few minutes.

Butch looks like he is going to be able to do it assuming i get the parts in next week.

My welders in houston and between test and homework this semester i just don't have enough time to get it done before round up and do a quality job at installing them.

That's a good looking rig, thanks for the heads up on your build thread. I like the look of the line-x , I will probably go that route as well.

Will be ordering 6 shooters, new 4x4 lab arms, longs, ARB or TJM Air locker, and compressor in the next month or so. I also picked up a mini axle about a month back very cheap for spare parts and for the aisin hubs which i'm rebuilding right now so i'll post up a photo soon.

excellent job,Looks bad ass without the fenders:beer:

Line-x is great. Very easy to clean and I don't have to worry about scratches on the trail, which makes me a lot more at ease on the trails about getting damage.

Time for some updates:
Built my front axle over June and July. ARB'd, longs, 6 shooters, etc. Took it out to Moab for 4 days and had a good time, over all really pleased with how it did.

Bought some 17x9.5" racelines and 37" Trail grapplers over the holidays and got those on

Bought a 91 FJ80 over thanksgiving, took out the 3fe and sold the rest to a friend. Plan is to slowly build a 2FE to swap in as time and money permits.

Thats the pic ^ right there that got me loving the look of this rig. Nice job man, 37's look freaking perfect on there.

Thanks! The new wheels and tires definitely changed the entire look of it for the better. Also being able to air down to 4 psi helps :grinpimp:

Builds going well !!!

I didn't see your vin posted? I would like to see how it compaired to the other two 1/75 trucks that are accounted for so far :)

Since I haven't updated this in a while, I pulled my 2F and H42 out over thanksgiving. Sold the 2F to a member. 2FE is sitting in the 40 now, still needs sensors, fuel systems, and wiring done. The Orion is waiting to get a gear swap to the 10 spline the SM420 requires, then that all will be going in. Don't really have a specific deadline to get it done other than before the end of May when I'll be moving for work.

Well the 2FE runs

Seems like a really strong motor compared to the 2F from the little bit of driving i've done it it. Seems to have all the benefits I liked about the 2F, but with more HP/TQ. As of now, I'm happy i went with this route over a V8 swap.

Had it die on me last week after picking it up from having a shop finish a couple minor things I didn't want to do. I believe the culprit was a dead battery and bad alternator. Charged the battery and it runs much better and cranks right up. Voltage at the alternator was under 12 volts, new one is ordered and should be here tomorrow.

Swapped in a SM420 at the same time as the motor swap. 1st gear 4 Low w/ the Orion 4:1 is going to be fun. The stretch from 2nd to 3rd gear is pretty big. Much bigger than i expected but not terrible with the extra power of the 2FE.

Now just need to get the last few things cleaned up, get it washed, and looking good again.

Having it driving again has given me some interest in it, haven't decided if I'm going to list it for sale or keep it around yet. Been fighting that thought for the past few months and I have been telling myself to get it driving before making any decisions. I really don't see myself wheeling in the next year or two so not sure it's worth keeping around.
