well,
my 74 lives. I have logged about 10 miles so far, and it shall be easier once the license plates are renewed (I need opacity smog test). As major project that included switching from vacuum 1.99 t-case to stick 2.81 Mark's gearset & the entire engine conversion, it's been off the pavement since September.
requirements,
first: An exhuast will allow me to hear (and smell less) of whats going on with the turbo etc. I have HDJ7X head pipe, but nothing else.
second: I need to get the bias ply tires so I can hear the Mark's gear whine when cruising. This is a new design gearset with mark's idler shaft (some install issues/holdups) may calm down in 2,000-3,000 miles as other owners have said.
third: for safety, I need to hook the dual boost/pyrometer gauge up (plumbed inside cab, but no mount bracket yet).
(fourth, the Greg B/Sheldon W supplied cable lockers and Belton kit have to be installed in Susanville in the shop of Icky Racing Diesel asap)
comments,
fast, very freakin fast (faster than 2005 tacoma 4 door). circa 1991 HD-T original boost in J74 (4.11's, right now I have ENS/bias ply on the truck). hella fast compared to the 13B-t. Seems to come into a second power band at 3,200 rpm (a little kick then).
You know, the 13B-T was ok, ran well, but lacked the redline to go much above 80 mph on Arizona freeways and could climb hills, but took effort (outstanding off road and sipped fuel). The HD-T has been a desire since the dinosauer (45 wagon w/ hd-t) began and died (rip 1998-2002).
personal thanks to:

and Thanks to Toyota for making the parts for this project, but rescind this 'honor' because of delays with deliver and no help from TMS-Torrance/Ontario (you could and still can make this truck and give it to general public in favor of the FJ)
and A.N. who wishes to forvever remain anonymus
in sum, "I would not have it any other way"
