Its not Brians rig....

I was at my sisters house tonight and as we left her home just around the corner I spy a green soa FJ55 in someones yard. BAMMM I stop and knock on the door (ofcourse) and there is no answer. I leave a note and drive off.

Fairly nice pig. I didnt look at it a whole lot. But it does look pretty good.

So does it belong to anyone on the list?

YES....It's NOT mine.... :D

sounds cool...damn we could have quite a little pig hoard....

FJBen

all within' an hour of eachother...

if you go south, you got me, treeroot and hatfield...we're just under an hour south of the fort.

This one is here in Cheyenne. Today I had to go over to my sisters house and pick some items up. The pig is just around the corner. When I drove by this time there was an FJ40 sitting on the driveway and the garage door was open. I figured score because the dude must be home. Well I knocked and rang the door bell for a while. Waited and walked around the 55. Then rang and knocked a few times more. Nada. So I didnt get to talk to anyone. I will try again later.

Things I did noticed about this rig.

1) Dude tact'd in a set of double doors inplace of the tailgate. It looks kinda cheesy but if its a trail rig (whick it looks like its gonna be) then no biggie.

2) There isnt an engine, transmission, or tcase in the rig. But there appears to be a chevy V8 in the garage under a small plastic see thru tarp.

3) Its an SOA. Shackles looked homemade.

4) Extensive rust thru out the rig. Most has been but out and replaced with riveted in sheet metal then painted over with the same green paint. It looked like he/she/whoever owns the rig went thru some trouble to make it look somewhat decent. But why didnt they just fab up some rock sliders in place of the rockers?

that's my fear of going to the 55 gathering in colorado next year...I'll be driving through Laramie and won't want to leave....

ahh....the memories. My 55 sat at the gas station right when you come off the pass into Laramie for years before I bought it, maybe it wants to go back :)

I grew up in Walden, CO...so I'm very familiar with Laramie...gotta love driving an hour for groceries LOL...or movies...or...hmmm...

Going there this weekend for the Game...sideline passes and all...woohoo...I'll scope for piggies...

i used to live in red feather and i drove a 40, so i had to drive an hour to the fort to get stuff too...you get used to it...it's worth it for the seclusion.

Well there is another kid up here that owns a pig but I havent been able to contact him. That would be sweet.

I wish I still had my last pig. It was an 1974 FJ55 that was originally blue and white. I repainted it forrest green and ivory. The rockers were rotten as were the rain gutters in the rear corners and the floorboards in some areas around the rockers. I had just installed an 1987 2F longblock and continued to use the header, 74 intake, and non-US carb and non-US Didtributor. I had a MAF shackle reversal on the front. 4wheel disc brakes and tons of other things I did to it. I sold it to some dude in Utah that worked at a prison.

Mini,

I take it you are in Cheyenne?

I am Pig-less, but am thinking that we might have a critical mass near the CO-WY border to start a Cruiser club...

Comments anyone?

Ok... Im listening. :)

Yes Im in Cheyenne, Wy. I was just confirming that I had open ears to the talk about making another chapter up in this area if we had enough people.

But here in my area I know of 5 pigs.. Brian(ridgerunner) owns two but he has been going to school in Moscow, Id and also chasing fires, then we own One, and there are two other people that own pigs they are fixing up. As well as a number of FJ40's I have seen running around as well as several 60's.

Hmmm... One I forgot. It was a faded green white, with Chevy crap everywhere 3/4 ton axles, springs, steering, engine, tranny, case- the guy was allright, but he'd be MUCH happier with a Chevy. Is this is?

If you meet him dave, he'll try to get you to go with a Chevy. Watchout for those Wyoming rednecks.

Just drove through Cheyenne to Laramie this weekend...had sideline passes to the UW game...tried to spot some pigs but didn't see any....

I just realized who's truck this is. It's an old '78 FJ55 that Mike Kreuzer had. I missed the notes on the barn doors (one of the windows - the right? was cracked, correct?) the Audi seats, V8, rust, and aluminium. Mike I doubt would have time for the SOA; he must have sold it.

He's not the Wyoming Redneck I mentioned earlier.

I pretty much stopped trying to catch the guy.. I still drive by because my sister lives just around the corner. I saw some people out the other night but I didnt stop. They didnt really even bother looking over so I really doubt they are cruiserheads. I mean I even come in the general area of a cruiser and my senses are telling me there is a cruiser nearby. And I can catch an FJ55 in the corner of my eye thru the gaps of a picket fence driving at a high rate of speed.
