Gday guys
Tried to post this update on my original install thread but somehow it got lost in cyberspace.... Anyway it is now autumn over here and my original deadline to get my Lt1 conversion finished has come and gone, the new deadline is now winter (here's hoping). Made some real progress on the weekend though, got the engine in the hole and all the new shock mounts sorted, its off to exhaust shop after easter for the coated custom header and full 3" mandrel build. Then have to install the fuel pump and get my electronics savvy mate motivated to do the wiring and we should be able to start her up. Im pretty excited casue there are a few new items on her now including all new tyres and wheels and full rancho shocks with incab controller.
Here are the pics!!!!

Looks real nice, keep the pics coming. On another note it sure looks funny seeing the mirror image on everything for the right side drive, I have never seen the engine compartment on one.

another pic of the powerplant....
gonna sort out the fuel system this weekend :D

whoops, here it is...

A 155LPH 45 psi pump in the tank will work really well. I have used them in many high pressure conversions. Make sure and run the return line all the way to the bottom of the tank with a 90 on the end pointed away from the pickup.

Thanks Gary
I have a new Bosch in line fuel pump that flows 130lph at 5bar (Bosch 0580 254 910). The pump is rated to 350hp but I am a little worried that it might be a little small. The operating fuel pressure at idle should apparently be about 45psi. Comments? I have asked this question a couple of times on camaroz28.com but no one seems to be interested since it is going in a Japyota :o . I could trade this pump in on a bigger one but really want to know if that will be necassary.....

130LPH will be fine. You will not be loading the engine consistantly to warrant more fuel than that. The LT1 likes about 36 PSI at idle and 45 at WOT. If the factory fuel pressure regulator is still on the engine, it will handle the fuel requirements just fine. Keep in mind that if you use it, you will need to run the return line all the way back to the tank with the supply line. Both of these lines need to be metal lines so as not to get hot spots and cause vapor locks. I have seen people use the stock fuel lines for supply and return but I believe them to be too small. I would use at least 3/8 for supply and 5/16 for return. On my old TPI FJ60 I used the same pump you are using with fine results, but I seem to remember that I used the smaller fuel line that was connected to the vapor tank as the return line. This worked OK but I think I needed to modify it in the tank to go all the way to the bottom of the tank with a 90. I can't remember, but I think it stops a few inches from the top and that will aerate the fuel too much, from the return fuel spraying down on top of the unused fuel. It would work fine until you got low on fuel then it could cause problems. Good luck.

hhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii deeeeeeeeeee hiiiiiiiiiiii, hehe, Mr Hanky is my favourite celebrity poo.
Im running the H55F, considered a GM auto but price and my love of gears swayed me to sticking with waht was allready there. Im really stoked as I got a killer deal on the paintjob. I imported two sets of 15'' x 10'' black rockcrawlers into NZ, with the idea of either running two sets of tyres or selling one to try and offset the shipping costs a bit. Ended up getting propositioned on auction site where they were for sale by professional car sprayer who agreed to paint the truck in exchange for the wheels. Considering the wheels owed me about $600NZD Im really happy, used his dicount to buy the paint too so paid a pittance for the hard wearing 2 pack. Im dechroming the entire truck, and flat blacking all the trim so it should look pretty sweet when Im finished :grinpimp:

I didn't realize you were in OZ. Is that LT1 from a Manaro? I like the Olive Drab and dechroming it.

Mr. Hankey is a 'Christmas poo'! He comes out of the toilet to give people presents on christmas if they have a lot of fiber in their diet. Only Chef and Kyle beleived in him until , the whole town went to wreck because no one beleived. The song goes: "Mr. Hankey the christmas poo, he loves me, I love you. Therefore ..??????..., even if you're a jew! Sometimes he's nutty, sometimes he's corny. He can be brown of greenish-brown, but if you eat fiber on christmas eve, then he's bound to stop in your town. Mr. Hankey the 'Christmas poo'......" By the way Mr. Hanky is a turd!

-Mr. Hanky

Dont forget about when hollywooders came to South Park and nearly killed Mr Hanky by poisoning his environment with their cous cous laced turds, there are lessons there that I think we all should learn from.
The engine is from a '95 F body Camaro imported complete with the express purpose of doin something stupid with it like putting it in a 60 series Cruiser. And Im not in Aus. Calling a New Zealander an Aussie is as bad as calling a Canadian an American, and I should now how bad that is since I was born in Alberta. :D

You can call me an American, I don`t mind, my best customers and friends are US based.

But don`t call me a Quebecer, then I might take offense......

Looking good on the install, hows about a big old blower or turbo to perk that thing up..

Do you have to remove the whole front end to do this?

Yeah, I know, Im only teasing. Its funny though, the whole Australia, NZ thing really is the same as the US, Canada thing, we give each other s*** but at the end of the day its good to have such good friends for neighbours.

No, you dont have to take all the front panels off but its certainly nice to do so when painting and when putting the new engine in, working on headers etc.
