Today I got new tires! Mastercraft Courser MTs to be exact! Then I rolled her! God damn it.

I was at Boca Resivour and I decided to pull some drift turns with my two friends in the cruiser. The combination of new tread, soft dirt to hard dirt, and stupidity rolled it. Everyone was okay, I went to the hospital and they say possible kidney damage. My buddies arm went through the window. The side of the car barely got touched, it was airborn until it hit the roof.

Here are some pics:

So my parents have agreed to let me keep it. The engine bay is fine, all suspension components fine. The only damage is the body. My plan is to chop the hell out of it. Any ideas?

That'll buff right out.

Might I recommend a Subaru Impreza for AWD gravel sliding adventures?

"Drifting" a lifted 80 is like running a race with your shoes untied...

Seriously tho...glad you're alright... Im sure its not the cheapest way to learn that lesson.

Whats your plans for the truck now?

Not enough damage to chop it, IMO. I'm partial to A/C though, so I'm biased. Push the roof up, slap a windshield in it and a piece of Plexi over the hole in the roof and wheel it. Preferrably rubber-side down, from now on. :D

Wow! I'm just glad you are sorta' ok.....kidney damage sounds kinda' serious to me, but I'm not an MD. Lesson learned, I hope.

Ouch!!!
That looks eerily similar to the way mine looked when I bought it!
The front roof is down and the sides are hurt.
I bought mine rolled and destroyed. I fixed it without replacing any metal. I bought a windshield, left door glass, left taillight, and parts of a mirror. I fixed the rest. All of my body metal is original. It looks great.
I can give you some info on repair if you need it. PM me. I can help in a lot of ways.

BTW; that looks like flat ground. How did it go over?
80"s are stable. Most that roll are on predictible ground. My bro rolled mine on level ground. He was in a place with stable soil and predictible angles. He was playing too hard and ran into a tilt. It needed momentum to roll it over. It rolled slow. Most of the damage was in rolling it back upright.
How was yours?

Look at a thread called "Sunny Belly" on this site. Sunny belly is a smartassed reference to the idea that the belly was exposed to the sun. It details the repair. There are pics. We fixed the truck with no body panel replacement. All panels were straightened. No parts were replaced. A $10,000 rebuild was done for less than $1000. I drive the truck every day. PM...

Well, first things first, you need to stay the hell away from the Boca/Stampede!! Bad things happen when you go near there.

Glad to hear you are ok.

If you want to get into serious rock crawling, then put it on a diet, just remember that if you do it with out a windshield get ready to tow it everywhere. CHP isn't going to like your driving down the highway without a windshield.

My advise is fix it, probably still cheaper that replacing it.

And that's why my Insurance is still high at 28 years old. Man I hope I finally get out of the young male bracket when I turn 30........
By the way some friends and I rolled a lowered CRX in High School. Going about 75 on the freeway, ended up doing about 6 or 7 flips and came to a stop 40 ft from the road. Now that's how you roll something! Keep Practicing J/K

Glad you are all OK

Drift turns in a Cruiser?
I was wondering what kind of still-birth would try something like that, and then I saw your picture.
Look into a Chrysler Sirrus, or something you can't further 'Darwin' yourself with.

What he really means is he's glad no one was killed...good to see you didn't kill anyone else with that stunt though...we all have to learn someway....glad you get to keep it and give it new life again...it did hold up surprisingly well...it's a good thing you didn't try it in a populated area though. Like has been said, lesson learned.

Sorry i disagree with everyone, if someone would have died in an accident like that it would have been natural selection. there is a shortage of nice cruisers out there but there is obviously not a shortage of idiots to F them up!
