BBM Ricks 80 from Australia on 40's!

OK, here is a bit of info on my beaten up 80.

MODEL : 94 GXL Petrol Auto. I will never go back to a manual again!

FRONT DIFF : Features 4.88:1 ratios, Lockright Diff lock, CroMo CV's, solid pinion spacer and AVM hubs. Weld on diff guard.

REAR DIFF : 4.88:1 with solid pinion spacer, Lockright diff lock.

TRANSFER : Part time kit, Genuine Rockhopper reduction gears with 45% reduction.

MOTOR : Stock

AUTO : Stock, but will be doing a stall converter mod to lower the stall speed. Custom transfer guard.

SUSPENSION : 4in BBM kit featuring Tough Dog 45mm adjustables, Tough Dog coils, 3rds Heavy Duty adjustable Panhards, 3rds Ultra Heavy Duty lower control arms, 3rds Ultra Heavy Duty upper control arms and custom rear bumpstop extensions.

STEERING : 3rds Productions Draglink and Tie rod. These are bulletproof! Will soon be fitting a quality power steering cooler.

WHEELS/TYRES : Standard GXL 16x8 Steelies and 40x13R16 Michelin XML's. These tyres are awesome! They drive perfectly, are DOT approved AND, they are regroovable!! They are military spec, 4 steel tread plies, and 1 steel sidewall ply. Bloody heavy! Should last a while me thinks.

OTHER BITS : Sparco steering wheel, Big Pump & 5 Gallon Tank, Lightforce 240 XGT's.

COMING SOON : Custom sill armour, power steering cooler, new front bar (the old one has seen better days) bulletproof rear tailshaft.

If you dont mind me asking, how much bumpstop spacers are you using? Are you using frame or spring perch spacers in the front? Any trimming?

The front has no bumpstop extensions at all, it just clears nicely. The rear has around 100-110mm spacer on the chassis bumpstop.

A bit of wheel arch trimming, but nothing too dramatic. To my eye it looks reasonably in proportion.

BBM Rick.

Wait - 40s will fit on an 80 with a 4" lift?

Welcome :flipoff2:, 40's with 4-inches of lift. Oh god here it goes again . Get ready to be inundated with non-believes and people who will question your sanity. Rig looks sweet.

Thanks for the kind words. I am not to worried if people choose not to beleive what i say is true or not. I stand to gain nothing by lying. In Aus we call it the Tall Poppy Syndrome. I guess jealosy has that effect on people.

Welcome

I still dont get it?

Mickey Rubicon has a green 80 w/ a few stickers on it. I think they were referring to your cruiser's sitcker collection.

Oh yeah, welcome aboard!:flipoff2:

I love it when someone new to the board figures things out right away, ie.:flipoff2: It took me forever to get with it.

Nice rig and welcome. And:cheers: ,:flipoff2:

Welcome :flipoff2: nice introduction and sweeeeeet rig. Always jealous of the aftermarket goodies so readily available over there. It is getting much better over here though.
