I'm actually talking to the guy and plan on getting one as soon as cash allows. He showed me the other full bull bar on a 100 series, looks nice. I'm looking at the single hoop one, which the hoop is removeable, cool feature I thought. I'll see if I can get a pic of an 80.

The price is steep for a made in china product, although I'm sure shipping is a killer getting them over here. Quality is fine, I've seen some of the products from the chinese manufacturer who builds them and they're all built well. Not as high quality as an ARB, but good.

TJM Copy?

WOW this looks like a TJM Chinese knockoff!!
And more expensive than the originals!!!
If you like the design.. Find someone in the east coast who supplies TJM bumpers and get the original!
I have the T17 and it's sweet! Love it! and I paid about $900 for it!including shipping.. Just wait for the right time, or look for a local reseller who can have it shipped cheaper or where you can pickup! ;)

Not against Chinese products, the TJM bumpers are also made in China, but the difference here is that TJM will guarantee the quality and audit+quality control the factory in china, specify materials to be used, and carry out the design and testing to western standards! After all they have to make sure they maintain their reputation! :grinpimp:

thanks guys for the comments, i thought they were cheap but after i did some more research i guess its a little high for what it is.
i like the T17 alot, i dont like the look of the ARB , i also dont like that bar that goes below the headlight , it makes me think it would interfere with the headlights .

I have no dog in this fight but I spoke with Brian from Axxis and he personally inspects each bumper before it ships. It's a great looking bumper and very solid. I'm most likely going to go with one when I get to that point.

If you like the T17, now is the time to order it from Slee Off Road. $495.00 and free shipping. Considering it myself. Only lasts a couple more days though !

is the T17 painted or powder coated?

I can't speak to what bumper to get, but I do know Brian with Axxis Off Road and he's a great guy. I helped a mutual friend the other day install HID lights from AOR and we had an issue (installer error: ME :D) and he was on the phone helping us on a Sunday! Great service and the above comment that he checks/tests everything before it leaves his warehouse is 100% correct. Just my 2 cents. :)

It wouldn't surprise me if the TJM and this bumper were manufactured in the same factory. The mark-up on these is huge, that's why Slee can sell one of the TJM's for so cheap. You won't find a shortbus or ARB for this kind of discount, the manufacturing and materials cost alone prohibits that kind of thing.

The TJM bumper is powder coated. Also the TJM bumper we have on sale is the simply bumper channel with no hoops. We did a bulb buy on those from TJM USA so that is why we can offer them for free shipping.

The bumpers pictured here is copies by a Chinese company that someone is importing. We get the emails all the time from the company in China that sells them. Axis must have decided to import and sell some.

Want to see all the knock-off products in one place, go to http://www.china4x4offroad.com/ Fake ARB lockers, tents, bumpers, winches etc etc. They can all be had from here for pretty cheap.

How these companies can blantantly copy the products and sell them I am not sure. It is up to the manufacturers like ARB & TJM to tackle this. I don't have a dog in that fight, other than that we are loyal to the brands that we represent.

Because it's China, and they have no respect for anyone's copyright or design laws.

Let's not turn this into another China-bash thread. Most of what you own is made overseas anyway, even if you think it's 'name-brand'. It's no secret you can get some good quality stuff out of China.

So back on topic, pics of these bumpers?

....Sorry I'm late:whoops:

<Awkward introduction> Maybe I can shed some light on this post. My name is Brian Hartley. There are a few other posts on the forum regarding our products and reputation.

We have friend whom runs a large manufacturing facility in China. Upon production we have our own production line with our requirements. Bumpers are run through QC on site & then by our representative prior to departure. They follow a state side QC personally and then are available to the public.

In regards to the term knock offs/copies etc. At the end of the day it is a bull style bumper. Who copied who? That’s a complex question. I guess that’s like asking what came first, the chicken or the egg. There are many respectful bumper manufacturers today that have come along since the bull style bumper was first produced. They have adapted their own tweaks & designs to make it unique to them. We have done the same. Most 80 series bumpers don’t have recessed fog lamps and turn signals. I liked them, so I implemented them in to our design.

We’re not here to step on toes. In fact in another post I mentioned Christo’s front bumper being one of the best built bumpers on the market… and Sean’s rear. I feel if someone likes that style bumper, they’re going to buy that style bumper. We wanted to offer a different option to the off road community. We have received great feedback on our products & service thus far. We intend to stay focused on new product development and listen to suggestions from our customers.

If you were considering a front or rear bumper for your LC, we would like to be one of your considerations. If you’re local, please come by and say Hi. We've had the opportunity to meet a lot of really good people in this process. We hope to meet many more. In regards to a pic mounted. Part of the growing pains are resources. I've posted to have a couple of locals come by the shop and work something out with our products. We're in discussions with a few, just working out timing. On Wednesday we were up at Extreme Land Cruiser where Ryan & I installed our rear on a 100 series. It was a pleasure to meet him and add our bumper to the beautiful Radflo LC.

Sincerely,

Brian Hartley
