I looked at the new 200 today.

I saw the new 200 yesterday at a dealer and had mixed impressions. It was a loaded model with the luxury package. Overall, it still looks like a Land Cruiser, inside and out. I was impressed with the mechanical changes & improvements. I was disappointed with the price increase, a "cheaper" interior in appearance - more plastic, the 3rd row seats are not easy to remove, and the exterior is a bit funky and looks very similar to the Highlander. In fact, at first glance, I thought it was a Highlander.

I am pleased there were no radical changes made to the overall appearance of the LC. I believe it will perform both on and off road better than the 100. I am pleased it has many updated and improved features. However, I still prefer the appearance of the 100 and like its fit and finish better. The boxy interior, cool box, and fake wood trim in the 200 did not impress me. Even so, I left thinking Toyota could have done much worse on a design change and believe I will not be disappointed if I get a 200 in the future. It still feels like a Land Cruiser.

Ok I am floored by something you said. I saw two highlanders today and there is not a single way in the world that I could think that the LC is a highlander. The highlander looks TONS smaller then the LC.

I really am starting to believe it is one of those situations where once one person mentions it, everyone has the same opinion because other are repeating it.

The truth is, the new LC looks more like a Sequoia then it ever could look like a highlander!

Damn, glad I didn't say any of that !!

Interesting, these same comparisons and observations keep coming up again and again... :rolleyes:

Like I have always said....one sheep follows the others :doh:

BTW that was meant with love

I don't know how you guys see highlander in the new LandCruiser. The 200 looks more LC than anything. I like it. I like the way the grille resembles the 60 series, the but sticks out like and goes all the way to the front like the traditional LCs. I like the way the window line screams LandCruiser, the stance and looks from the front profile demand respect. All I wish was if the bulges in the fenders were carved instead of floating.

Highlander, it does not look like.

THANK YOU......Once again a light in the fog!!

:cheers::cheers::cheers:

You don't want to see the resemblance...I on the other hand see them, but don't want to. Put the 200 at the same 3/4 angle as the hl and the similarities are there. But hell, to each his own !! Toyota is known for their cutting edge style of late ! ;)

Only resemblance I see is that they both have 4 tires and rims.

Looks LandCruiser to me.

Wow, more similarities than I realized !! :lol:

Toyota has incorporated the same basic design elements into the new RAV4, Highlander and Land Cruiser. I think they wanted similarity throughout their SUV line-up. Just like other manufacturers have done...

Not bad...not good...just the way they did it!
