it would be _________.

Fill in the blank. Maybe this will help us focus on what we really need and should produce first.

Vote. This will be a lot easier and voting will be anonymous. We have 30 some odd members. I want to see everyone's vote. Do not let this be decided by just a few. Vote and give your input! This idea of the PPG could become a really good template for others to use as well as what we are doing is something no other cruiser heads have done. Your making history. This is just the tip of the iceberg. By bringing out parts we are increasing the value to our vehicles as well as making more people interested in them since parts will be available to rebuild them. In turn we can grow the interest of our vehicles and the 55 section. I for one want to see more of them out on the road.

For me

If I could have one part made it would be rear quarter panels.

#4 tailgate inner rubber window side "runners" not the ones that you see in the tailgate window BUT the ones inside the tailgate guts.
#5 firewall to hood seals; the ones that divert? the water from running down the firewall openings

Here's my list - looks familiar

Are you all talking full on rear quarter panels or just patch panels?

Of the lists so far the firewall/hood seal is something I do not yet have.

I'm sure rear quarters will come up again as that was an area that was previously patched on my truck and I did not dig deep into it.

I would also add front fenders.

Charles,

Beggars can not be greedy. While I only need patch panels if we need to have the entire rear quarters fabbed that would be OK with me. I can just cut out what I need.

I hope to visit with Paul in Panama about some FJ45LV parts so maybe I'll take the '55 when I go and then we can talk about that when I see him as well!

With all this talk about grommets and bellows. I got the grommet from Spector #184-90B (I have a new in the pakage one here if someone wants dimensions) and the bellows I believe someone said was also on other Toyota models. I know I was missing both and now have them so they are not totally "unobtainium".

Eric, SOR does sell a later model dash cap which fits and works quite well. It's obviously not "restoration" quality as it is no longer padded etc. but I doubt it will crack and it certainly looks better than a cracked dash.

I'd rather see something correct for us poor early guys;)

Then maybe we need to talk to the folks that make them and see if they'll agree to make the early model dash cap as well! These are the folks who make the one for the later trucks. Maybe if enough folks get together with the older trucks they'll make them?

I agree early dash caps/pads need to be on our top five list.

So who's got an earlier truck nearby to Reno?

John, do I hear you out there??

I've add a pole. It will make this a lot easier and it's private so no one can see who voted.

Read the first post above.

Come on people vote. I'll give this one week and then we will start the ball rolling. There are 30 in the group. It would be nice to see 30 people vote.

Sorry, I screwed up.

Change my vote to "grommets" and include the bellows with it.

Thanks, Troll

If you folks needing grommets want to post up the hole size I'll measure the one I have here from SOR and I'd bet it's the right one!! No need to make the same thing all over again!

my vote is for the firewall grommets + bellows.........water just runs down these openings and one of the reasons the floorboards rust out; also will need the firewall to hood seal but need a sample to get an estimate; also am uncertain if each side is different or if they are just glued on with a "curve" and are the same extrusion with a different orientation...........suggestions?

Lou

Been away sorta. I voted firewall not as I thought that most essential but as I thought that was a good mix for "needed" and "small first project". I'd like to see the waters tested.

As well, I have an early 7/70 dash that is much cracked and the with the two end drops broken (but still have them). The whole thing might do for fitment and moldlng.

But I am two weekends and work weeks from a surgury AND TRYING TO GET THINGS TOGETHER FOR MY WIFE (READ WINTER ETC) before I become a pill popping invalid and web surfer. So, I do not have much time for any contact work etc..
