Could've been real bad, just managed to steer away from barriers by giving it some extra.
This is a Febest unit. I looked up the part number: 0124-334RH
The units were installed late september 2021, so only about 15 months old.
I've also seen UCA's wear out and fail, but never like this.
Definitely posting here too often, but I had another failure I didn't expect.
Last night I was driving home from wrenching on another Land Cruiser 100. On my way back I was driving, let's say 125+km/h/75+mph and then my upper balljoint snapped on the highway.
Bit of careful steering and...
Thanks for the suggestions, I was in Scandinavia last week and discovered a swollen hose on the return line from injectors.
I found it thanks to a diesel smell when the car was off, replaced that bit of hose.
While searching for air related problems I also found that sometimes the "Switch...
Hello Diesel Specialists.
I've got a Land Cruiser HDJ100 with a 1HD-FTE engine, OEM VNT turbo, OEM swirl flaps, capped EGR (has always been capped since I bought it), and 555555km / 345678miles.
The Injection pump, Injectors and Turbo have been rebuild about 125000km/77777miles ago ago.
I've...
I recently treated some rust in the back and came access these plugs, lot of them were unused:
I can take some more pics if you want, mines made in October 2001.
I did a quick search on the forum about a trailer brake plug under the dash but couldn't find it.
Do you have a picture of the plug...
Plastics can be hard to glue, look up the plastic type and get the correct glue / epoxy.
I wouldn't use glue or epoxy myself in this case but some sort of metal bulkhead fitting / nipple with a nut behind and rubber seal.
Something like this:
You're right, it is fine for prototyping but I like welded constructions more.
I use the stuff at work for test setups and I used to use the same stuff as you. I call that profile a "B" type and it has two flat edges where the "Nut" slides.
Now I mostly use "I" type. It is thicker on the edge...
Seems like I'm posting too regularly here, but this is what happened:
My brake disc broke while driving (coming to a stop) whacked the piston out of the caliper, destroyed (bend and broke) the caliper, backplate, brake shoes, hardware and made some pretty bad scars inside the rim.
These are...
There are some signals that the ECU needs, mostly from the linear shift pattern. I think I'll get these from the neutral safety switch.
If I need more buttons I'll possibly place some switches. I might also create a "shift box" to manually select gears off road, but we'll see if this is...
Did some work, small things.
Need to get a spacer instead of the stack of rings but I almost finished the shifters:
3D printed some knobs for fun:
Low Range Lever:
Added some m20x1.5 to AN10 adapters, AN10 to 1/8NPT sensor housing and AN10-AN6 adapters for the ATF cooler lines and put...
Awesome Build! I really like the galvanized zinc coating on the frame, definitely something I would like to do.
I like your tire carrier design. One thing I don't like on most tire carriers is the latch design. On most you have to reach down under a tire to open and close the latch.
I think it...
