Yes it was, but she was happy and so were we going down the road in the old truck (that's me next to our dog). Soon we'll swap in a rebuilt 1hz and go faster!
Golden Boy sure needs some lovin', he's been leaking fuel all across the driveway and I had to shovel it away then patch it up. Diesel makes a kind of mud that never dries up and it was awful. Also, I heard a rumor that there's a snorkel in one of those boxes. What could be more fun than going...
I asked CruiserMatt this same question and it is a matter of how much you thrash your beast. You could probably get away with a thousand pound feet of torque as long as it is smoothly applied torque and is on an already moving driveline. The moment a jolt is introduced, you'll shatter your rig's...
Nice 70 series! My dad and I are converting our RJ77 to electric later this year. It's tired 22R is finally about to retire! Hit me up if you visit Daytona!
Okay, now that we've all all had a chance to kiss and make up, I suggest checking for bad wheel bearings. If you can record the sound and feel of the truck shaking at 70+mph, that would be helpful.
Cheers m8
Dude, seriously? I'm just trying to help out Patassa. If you've read Patassa's post, you'll see that he is only interested in out of the box capability to take his family off road with and not need to modify their car to suit their needs. Lexus has been selling their version of the 200 series...
That's right, but apparently Toyota wants to refresh the modern 70 series. Probably not kill it, knowing how conservative Toyota is, they'll probably beef up some parts of it rather than change bodywork or major structural components. It will likely be the same truck under the hood.
The only 300 you'll see here is a Lexus version, which in my opinion isn't really a Land Cruiser at all - just another fancy SUV you see on the road. The last bastion of what a Land Cruiser is would be the 'Heritage Edition' Land Cruiser sold here in the United States. It is more off-road...
If I had to guess, yes, absolutely. If you are new to off roading, I suggest doing it in a vehicle that you don't care about mechanically stressing out your chosen vehicle. My dad and I will be passing through in my Model 77 Land Cruiser just to visit and maybe *maybe* do some light trails. I...
I doubt they will ever stop producing them. They sell so many, and I'm sure people tell Toyota all the time that they dig the classic looks of the 70s. They sell well, Toyota has everything down pat on making them, and it is an iconic vehicle. It is a safe bet that the 70 is likely the last...
