P0420 Live Test - Bad Oxygen Sensor?

Had a P0420 pop up with a check engine light/VSC OFF/TRAC light. When I ran a Techstream live test, this is the graph on an engine rev at about 3500rpm. Can anyone tell me if this confirms the Bank 2 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor is bad? I believe the threshold is something like 0.49, and it looks like...

Looking at LX tomorrow for purchase?

Check for rust in the usual places. Fender wells, rear lift gate/tail gate. Check AHC function at all 3 heights. Timing belt service should have been done already - it is not optional. Plan for $1500 service if it hasn't been done and you need a shop to do the work. Check underneath for rust...

    Foot Rest/Dead Pedal DIY fix

Once they've dried, screw them in place. Notice the glue from my previous attempt at a fix. Last, fill the holes in the dead pedal/foot rest with silicone and put the dead pedal in place over the dowel rods that are screwed into the floorboard. This DIY dead pedal repair has held up well for...

    Foot Rest/Dead Pedal DIY fix

My dead pedal/foot rest broke a few months ago - the plastic piece snapped, like in most of the other pieces I've seen. After looking around at different options to replace it, I decided I didn't want to spend $60 on a replacement. Found a few things in my garage to put together a semi-permanent...

Suspension Options for LX470 AHC Conversion

My AHC went out a couple days ago, so I'm researching options for replacement. I like the ride quality of stock LC, and I don't take it off road much - just the occasional forest service road. I'm running 275/65-18 tires, so I don't need anything more than stock. Right now, I'm leaning toward...

    Replace rear vent weather strip

I need to replace the rear vent window weather strip on the driver's side. It's completely flat and has no cushion left to it, so it leaks slightly. What's the easiest way to do this? The FSM makes it look like the interior trim all needs to come out. But is there a way to easily remove the...

Fix the rattle on the rear vent windows

Would this approach also allow enough working room to replace the weather stripping around the window? I need to replace mine on the driver's side, and the FSM makes it looks like lots of interior stuff has to come out.

    Rusty Hose & Connector

Thanks - I will spray it with some fluid film in the next couple days and hope for the best. If the hose happens to fail, that wouldn't cause damage any of the remaining components of the AHC system, would it?

    Rusty Hose & Connector

How concerned should I be about the connectors and this hose? The one with black hose (not the spiral one). Found it under the driver side wheel well cover when changing an O2 sensor. 2004 LX470

Turned steering wheel... crunch, then airbag light

Just to follow up here, I fixed the issue by replacing the clock spring/spiral clock in the steering wheel. After digging around a bit in the forums, I connected some dots and decided my "crunch" sound could have been the clock spring failing. The airbag light made sense as connected to this...

Turned steering wheel... crunch, then airbag light

Everything else works as expected. I did a 2-hour drive home after the crunch. Cruise and horn both worked as expected. Edit: The ribbon looked fine when I pulled the airbag out. The crunch seemed to come from the space between the rotating steering wheel and stationary column.

Turned steering wheel... crunch, then airbag light

2004 LX470 here. Last night I was turning around in the driveway and I heard a crunch when turning the steering wheel around all the way to one side. The air bag light came on immediately and has stayed on ever since. I feel like this should be an easy fix if I can find the issue. Once I drove...

pink crumbles at timing belt pulleys

Thanks! That makes sense. We'll clean it up and move on.

pink crumbles at timing belt pulleys

Working on a timing belt change and found this when we got to the pulleys. Anyone seen anything like this before? What is it?
