    My Power Steering Leak

I know this is an old thread, however I found a decent video on this job,

    Dashboard Dimmer Circuit.

Just finished the job & you were correct, it does exactly that. Dims when head lights are on. Also wiring the reverse back-up camera, I followed a lead on another thread & it saved some time & wire...

How to wire a 4 or 7 pin trailer connector and backup camera without splicing/cutting factory harness.

hey there kendgray, big thanks for this write up. Saved some time to connect to that wiring plug for the reverse signal. Reverse camera works perfectly from that connection. I couldn't tell what colour the wires were, but positive reverse light was the one with arrow below.

    Dashboard Dimmer Circuit.

Cool, thanks for that. I'll be using the AerPro harness, so I should be good to go without searching for the dimmer circuit.

    Dashboard Dimmer Circuit.

Had a look around but still not sure. My dashboard dimmer only dims the gauge cluster. I thought it should also dim the center dash lights = radio, clock & aircon. Is this normal for '96 AU model? About to install a new head unit with 7" screen that is dimmable & can be controlled via the ILL...

    Leaky valve cover gasket?

It's actually not that hard to do. The hardest part for me was the spark plug seals, they had perished & broke up when removing them, but the steel part of them was wedged in tight. Got them out eventually with a chisel & a lot of swearing. Only a couple of scratches on the cover. All good now...

HOW TO: Replace Distributor O Ring

Well I just verified this leak after changing my valve cover gaskets that were leaking bad. Cleaned engine thoroughly but detected a slow oil leak at the distributor. Got the O-ring & changed it out, 20mins labor plus another 20 mins cleaning the built up sludge under the dizzy that I missed...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Thanks, I already purchased all the parts from Amayama, listed in this video by Timmy He didn't mention the PHH. The PHH is only a little bit of straight hose. If it looks like it needs replacing, that won't be too hard to fabricate.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Forgive my ignorance but WTF is the PHH? Do agree though that you may as well drain the coolant & replace when finished, as to get to the VC gasket replacement, you need to disconnect a couple of upper coolant hoses, so draining it prevents coolant splashing all over where you are working.

    LPSV replacement tips

They did the work & charged you for it. Take it back & get them to fix it at their expense. Anything you do now, will be tampering with what they did & then you'll be the one fixing it at your expense.

    80 Series LSPV?

yes, you could get a brake specialist to fabricate hard lines to replace the crusty ones. If you are mechanically competent, you could get a flaring tool, a roll of hard line & fittings, DIY.

    80 Series LSPV?

3 hard lines that connect to the LSPV from those diags would be 47324, 47325 & 47362.
