    Pamela Landy 2.0 Build

Finally got this thing out of the garage and did some camping! Should be a fun summer. Dropped in a CarPlay unit and have a bunch of interference, I'm guessing a grounding issue. Problems for another day.

    Hub studs/nuts keep stripping

Are you saying the rears are supposed to go short-threaded end into the hub? I thought OE design was long threaded section into the hub? Either way, I went with some cap screws and retained the cone washers so I could get this thing out of the garage. I realize that this probably isn't...

    Hub studs/nuts keep stripping

Yeah, I agree. I just did the front axle and replaced those, too. No issues. Can't figure out what the deal is in the rear.

    Hub studs/nuts keep stripping

Do you still run this? Shouldered or fully threaded with the cone washers? Might make a run to the hardware store - some 12.9 cap screws are a whole lot cheaper than the ARP studs.

    Hub studs/nuts keep stripping

The nut is stripping on the stud. Been putting them in long side into the hub, haven't had any issues on that side. Pretty tempting. I got annoyed last night and ordered some ARP studs, those are $$$$ for 8mm hardware. I know people move up to 3/8, have you had any issues with weakening the...

    Hub studs/nuts keep stripping

My rear hub studs and nuts keep stripping out before they get to 26-ft-lbs, figured I’d check here before I keep buying more studs and nuts. Been trying to get the rear axle back together for two weeks now- 3 of the OEM original studs on each side were pretty mangled. Replaced them with...

    Pamela Landy 2.0 Build

Pamela sat for a few months while I was busy with work and house projects. Last few weeks I've been picking away at maintenance: Built a super janky gantry to pull the GFC with one person so I can get it into the garage easily: Overdue front axle rebuild. Way too dry in there. Grease looked...

    Project "Sparkles"-1997 LX450 Gen V 6.2 Swap

That's fair. I was just surprised you needed to since Torfab's site specifically says you won't: "I assume I’ll need to source 5th gen tight fitting headers. Any recs? You should use the truck or SUV manifolds that come with your donor engine" Really just selfish curiosity since I'm planning...

    Project "Sparkles"-1997 LX450 Gen V 6.2 Swap

Out of curiosity, any word from Tor on why this particular fit doesn't seem to work as planned?

    Aftermarket alarm removal

It's possible, but when I read through all the threads on deleting the RS3000 and other alarms, it sounded like when the original system is removed, you should be able to plug all the connectors that were used into something. I'm pretty sure this is a 12-pin connector that fits the RS3000...

    Aftermarket alarm removal

Already did that. The issue is that 12-pin connector they tapped into right before (first photo) doesn’t have anywhere to go that I can find. They left it dangling.

    Aftermarket alarm removal

So my 96 LX had an aftermarket Clifford Matrix +1 alarm installed. It was annoying and kept getting set off, so I started to pull it. Now I’m confused- I have a 12-pin connector that was just dangling, not connected to anything, but they cut and spliced into four of the wires on that connector...

    1994 Land Cruiser misfire

I know you said you've looked at the harness, but it's probably worth pulling it apart and checking the wires very thoroughly. Start around the EGR and where the harness goes through the firewall. Sounds similar to an issue I had last year with mine.

    Low speed/high torque problem

not yet, I haven't had a chance to really dig into it in a few weeks.

    Low speed/high torque problem

Yeah ATF is fresh with only ~2k on it or so. Still red and smelly. This is definitely new. Started on some easy trail/forest service road driving this weekend. First instance was at the bottom of a small, mildly steep hill we had stopped at the bottom of to look around. Just wouldn’t go up in...
