Depends on what the underlying issues were and how bad… I didn’t have major issues, metal shavings and had decent fluid intervals, mine appeared to be either electrical, a sensor or likely we thought pressure holding as it did better overfilled and when expanded when warm.
The bottle help with...
I was kind of wondering this myself on how long the rings are good for. Methinks I’ll simply add a bottle at each drain and fill once leveled or after a full exchange is done. Essentially, it’s just a new bottle every 30k or 3-5yrs.
Shoot! Looks like I can no longer edit the original first post on this thread 😞. I was going to update it with adding AT205 to the list of items for viewers to try vs. having them read through 49 pages and 3 years of material.
Any idea if an admin or someone can unlock it for editing?
4 weeks with AT205 and we drive it consistently on a cold start in drive with NO CODES! It used to be like clockwork in the first 5 minutes between 3-4 gear on triggering the code. Shifts buttery smooth. Still waiting on a Colorado winter cold to test how it does. That’ll be the real test.
So...
On mine, added in the AT-205 a week ago, maybe 100 miles on it.
Drove today from a cold start and no codes. Shifted fine like it does when warmed up. This never happens.
Methinks overfilling with the At-205 helps a bit as overfilling has helped with pressure in the transmission in the past...
I def appreciate another option vs. DIY, rebuild unknown or full replace or doing nothing.
Short term for sure now, absolutely not for everyone as these codes mean many things underneath. I am not a big believer in adding snake oil into items and then magically getting better. Time will tell...
I’ll report back in a week or so as I get some mileage on it.
I am a good candidate as there is nothing electrical or mechanically found when inspected.
So far that’s 2 on this forum that have found reprieve in using it! I agree that time and colder weather will be inportant.
Bought a bottle of AT205, quick 5 minutes to add it.
I figure a few items that are a plus… 1)I have zero solenoid or hard shifts prior, simply a pressure item, so we’ll see how this works after time… 2)Having extra fluid always has helped with the codes, so that extra 8oz should do…. 3)No risk...
