Dangerous brake pulsing on long downhills

the guys above pretty much addressed it. The bed in process we recommended was accel to 50 and firm braking just short of abs intervention until 10 or 5 mph and repeat 10 times in quick succession. Keep in mind this was for performance cars, track cars and the like, but the point is to warm up...

Dangerous brake pulsing on long downhills

Oy…. 🤦‍♂️ it can be frustrating when the right answer is posted, yet incorrect information is subsequently posted. TLDR: it’s not the rotors. Get heavy duty pads. I worked for a performance brakes manufacturer for over 12 years. I’ve had this conversation with customers more times than...

    Torque spec for Track Bar

Dr. KDSS over torques everything. I get that you don’t want stuff to come loose when trying to keep up with Ford Raptors, but when all his torque specs are 100+ ft lbs with loctite, it’s a bit ridiculous.

Trouble getting lift on due to sway bar/KDSS

It’s fine. Just don’t make sudden large steering inputs. Especially at higher speeds

    460 Rear Ladder

I have the Nash fan shorty ladder. On trips, I have a 10lb propane tank in a bag hanging off of it. I use it all the time to climb onto the roof rack. Since the door is closed when I use the ladder, it’s essentially braced on both sides. I haven’t had any door shift issues. Ladder is still on...

So what's everybody doing for brakes?

I worked for the owner of DFC at his previous company. I'm also running the Ultimate pads. They produce a fair amount of dust, but provide decent bite and good temperature range. They squeak at light pedal pressure though. A bed -in should solve that issue. Brake pads are not a one size fits...

    GX460 Transmission fluid cooler

I have a '17 w/ the OEM AT cooler. Similar temps. Maybe slightly lower. Similar ambient temp. OEM skids. It seemed like similar temp drops when I added my OEM cooler. I'm contemplating going to a Hayden 698

    What springs do you run?

Your weight isn't that bad. GVWR is 6600. I'm at ~7000 in total sans driver Front ~3000 Rear ~4000 Ironman FCP I've changed out to the heavy rear springs which has improved things, but I'd like it firmer. I'm about to order the (unlisted in US) stiffer rear shocks from them. There's gotta be...

OEM Skid Plate & Transmission Cooler

I put in the OEM external trans cooler. I didn’t record data, and I’m too lazy to do so. Plus I’m just reading temps from my scanguage. My impression is that the transmission runs at about the same temps, but does cool down somewhat faster. I’m considering going with a larger aftermarket...

    Ironman FCP question

I got my recall letter too. Anyone know if they are covering alignment as well since suspension parts are getting changed out? Also, anyone find the rear med springs too soft for the GX? They are fine if the car is empty, but most of my usage has the rear loaded up. I got my Gx weighed at a...

Thump or Slight Kick at Idle

the extra grease will just get flung onto the underside of the car. I have some flung on there from the factory. I haven't added any grease to my driveshafts yet. I had this happen on my 2006 v8 4runner (near identical drivetrain) and see it pop up occasionally for people on the gx forums or fb...

Grease your drive shaft. Prop shaft. Whatever people are calling it these days.

Features of Black Line Edition & Lift Question

I had it on my 4th gen 4Runner and used it when towing when hooking up the hitch and getting in and out of steeper parking lot entrances. Other than that the auto leveling airbags was nice to have when I had a loaded vehicle to keep the rear at level instead of sagging.

NYTOP GX460 Class IV tow hitch...anyone have any experience with this company?

Maybe not a comforting fact for you, but they are local to me. I’m always more comfortable with a local vendor. Totally moot point here, but I don’t think the OEM hitch msrp is that high. https://parts.longolexus.com/oem-parts/lexus-trailer-hitch-51908wy010...
