I took a chance and pre-ordered the Rival 4x4 Aluminum Skid plate. The website had it listed for the 4Runner and GX 470 but not the 460. I was pretty confident it would fit the 460 since other skid plates fit all three models universally. I wanted aluminum for weight savings and since I have no intention of doing any rock crawling or difficult trails, I just wanted more protection than the thin steel half skid I got from the factory. For $250 I'm very impressed with the quality, everything fit very well and the parts are quality. The support brackets are steel and very sturdy. It looks like they now have it listed for the GX 460 as well but wanted to let anyone interested know that it fits great. The only thing I am disappointed with is the fact that it's not made in the USA. I know they have an R&D facility in the Houston area and thought their products were produced there too but it's made it Kazakhstan. On the bright side, I am told it's the number 1 aluminum fuel tank skid plate in all of Kazakhstan....

Awesome! So good to have more options for the 460! Let us know how it holds up. My RCI fuel skid has the most scrapes of all of my skids, since the front end is near the breakover point, and the skid itself makes you loose an inch+ of clearance. With steel supports, it should hold up fine.

I also purchased a gas tank skid from them. It didn't come w/ the blue bumpers, but they solved that problem for me. Their packaging was way better than ARB. Rival doesn't have a trans skid, so I went w/ ARB via 4wh parts. The boxes are practically destroyed by the time they arrive at your door or at the store. First ARB shipment's hardware bag split open and half the hardware was missing.

I have the full set. They’re ok for light use. They can easily bend if it gets hit hard.

I also have full set and want to warn people that for late models of GX460 (I have 2022) middle skid is not easily mountable. Later GX460 have cross member moved and as a result see image.

@varok I have a question - for oil change do you use quick access doors or unmount skid completely? The reason I ask that GX unlike 4Runner have it's oil filter sideways and not vertical.

Is there any problem or issues with where they are from? Aside form many folks only wanting U.S. manufactured products.
The only location I'm usually skeptical about purchasing from is China.

Yes but I normally remove it since I like to inspect underneath anyway.
What year is your GX? Mine is a 2019. I saw on the website that the front skids fit a GX but the transmission skid is only for a 4runner. I sent an email and the reply was that the crossmember mount is different and it does not fit on a GX. Did you have to modify?

I think a lot of aftermarket skids require removing those factory bars - at least the CBI ones do. I emailed CBI about it and they replied that their bracing is stronger than OEM. I went ahead with the removal and haven't noticed any creaks. But, I would've preferred something that left those factory bars in place.

2011 and no modification. I don't know if x-member has changed for later years.
