Route sharing, Toyota talk, and random vehicles for sale

You should definitely pass unless you want purgatory-worthy levels of misery. Everything about the car exuded ownership by a mechanically inept owner. In addition to the obvious stuff like cut springs and the punk kid sound system wired directly to the battery, I found signs of abuse and neglect...

What Did You Do To Your Diesel Today (WDYDTYDT)

Finally printed out some custom oil change stickers for my HDJ81 and my brother's Prado. I'm really happy with the way they turned out, so I figured I'd see if anyone else wanted any. If there's interest, I'm going to order another batch of these reusable, dry erase stickers - one set with...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Finally printed out some custom oil change stickers for my 80. I'm really happy with the way they turned out, so I figured I'd see if anyone else wanted any. If there's interest, I'm going to order another batch of these reusable, dry erase stickers - one set with "kilometers" and one set with...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

I'm going to order another batch of these reusable, dry erase stickers - one set with "kilometers" and one set with "miles". The stickers are 1.75x2.63" and will be $5 each shipped. PM me if you're interested! (I changed the sticker slightly and removed the "Rotella T logo from the bottom...

    Builds Another Prado in Montana

I looked at the data tag on the saw… it was rated for something insane like 90cfm at 110psi. The air hose connection was probably 1” id!

    HDJ81 Rear Disc Brake Upgrade

The OEM part number for HDJ81 rear brake pads is 04466-60020. Per Toyota Parts Deal, they fit 80 series land cruisers from 1992-1997, but the same pads were used on my 1990 HDJ81. These pads should work for any 80 series with rear discs.

    Builds Another Prado in Montana

I just had a mechanic recommend the store brand of batteries from CarQuest. Apparently he’s seeing them significantly outperform interstate batteries. I have a pair of Costco batteries in my hdj81 (not sure if they’re interstate or not), and haven’t been altogether pleased with them. Both...

    Wanted Stock/Rebuildable CT26 - 1HDT

@Yellow Jacket I have a rebuildable CT26 out of an HDJ81. It's a bit dirty and has some endplay, but was making good boost when I pulled it. PM me if you're interested.

    HDJ81 Rear Disc Brake Upgrade

As discussed in this thread, if you have an early (pre 1994) HDJ81, finding rear brake parts can be a challenge. Backing plates and rotors are no longer produced, making replacements extremely pricey. When my rear rotors needed replacement, I opted to convert my early HDJ81 to 1994 FZJ80 rear...

HELP! 1993 HDJ80: low power > DIED. Restarted > everything worked fine.

Agreed. My brother recently drove a 3L-powered Hilux 250 miles with a dead alternator. It ran fine even though the battery eventually got down to 3.4 volts. Based on that I'm guessing fuel shutoff solenoids hardly draw any power! I recently had a similar experience where the positive battery...

    HDJ81 1HD-T Won’t Crank, What am I Missing?

The same guy I got the male plug from also has the female side available. But I ended up taking off on a 10 day road trip this morning. I guess the dome lights will have to wait!
