    Sunroof Repair. What To Do?

Yeah, with constant submersion in water some types of fiberglass and resin will get blisters from water being moved though osmosis, the gelcoat acts like a seal to stop this. But where these roofs were coated at the factory with gelcoat, paint on top is OK. Unless your cruiser spends a lot of...

    Sunroof Repair. What To Do?

Use something that stays semi soft and kinda sticky like yamabond 4 semi-hardening or other similar permatex stuff VS house/cheap silicone caulk. You might be having a problem because the top and sunroof flex and vibrate, causeing the gasket goo to no longer fill all the imperfections it...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Whoa. Any security camera's around? I'd file with the police about vandalism. I've wondered about ways to lock the hood down to deter thieves but I never considered vandals, might be a good time to come up with something.

T-case linkage on V8 swaps, how did you do it?

The flexy part of the cable is inside a very rigid sleeve, the only parts the are outside the sleeve are solid rods, so the cable acts like a rod that can flex around a bend, You have to make farily big bends with them because of it. I had a car with one for the shifter. That's a really good...

T-case linkage on V8 swaps, how did you do it?

Title is kinda self explanatory, trying to figure out how to run the H-N-L dash linkage for my vacuum shift 3 speed T case after a v8 swap. Pic's would be great if you have any.

Rollbar Options for a 72 FJ40 with "long" rear stock bench seats

    That's pretty cool really.

Rollbar Options for a 72 FJ40 with "long" rear stock bench seats

Those bent rear bars are going to fold like a wet noodle if much of a load is placed on them.

    SOR sliding fj40 cargo windows?

I would think that with the door windows, kick vents, windshield( if you have a early one with vent) open there wouldn't be much of a vacuum created at wheeling speed.

    2F into a 72 FJ40 need transmission advice

If you drop a gear, accelerate to 70 and then shift into 4th can you hold the speed easily or do you have to mash the fuel to hold it? With that combo your running between 2200-2300rpm at 60. I'm not sure what the toruqe curve on a 2f is. If the other fj40 with the F engine had the original...

    2F into a 72 FJ40 need transmission advice

It's possible the front end being always engaged might slow you down a bit, though your engine with a header will be a bit noisy than a cast manifold. Might be part of it?

    What up with this?

Or a drivetrain swap with junkyard parts.

    Striped 40?

That's one of the few style things I like from the 1970's and 80's. The use of pinstripes and cool decals and bright colors on cars. Modern cars are so boring. Beige, gray, white, beige again, more gray, "champagne" beige, black, more beeeeeige. Endless sea of beige.

    Buying advice

That's a lot of rust for $15,000. Are those rust hole in the windshield frame( under the roof lip)? The rear panel being bulged out like that is really weird, is it busted loose from the rest of the rub? Know how to weld and do sheet metal work? It's not terrible, what does the rear fenders and...
