Looking for pics and suggestions on how to mount gas shocks to my hood.

It’s funny cause I obviously knew my hood opened up all the way to rest on the top, but I always used the prop instead. When off-roading with @65swb45 I asked for his assistance on adjusting the carb and he said something to the effect of “well first raise your hood up all the way” haha. I...

Made it up to south lake and cruising around. Everything seems to be running good; glad to be out of the heat of Bishop.

Super cool! Was just thinking about some other places to go; that's nice it's pretty close. Good tip about going during the week. I'm headed to the Eastern Sierras on Thursday, hopefully all goes well.

Hey all just wanted to follow up. I was out of town this weekend and been busy with some health issues in the family. But before I left I replaced the cap, rotor, condenser and points. So far so good. Drove around Friday, drove to work today. I also put in the old ND coil that the truck had...

So another update… I got in the truck to drive to work this morning and it did the same thing. Points gap must not have been the issue. After work today I threw in my old dizzy from the F motor and drove for a while; no issues. So while I still don’t know what it is I think have it narrowed...

Yup. Points gap. Why though? Apparently I didn’t tighten down enough when replacing them a few weeks ago? This was the same issue that prevented the truck from starting when I put it together; I should know better to check it. Thanks for everyone’s input. 🍻

Well I don’t know who gets the next meal - @majdomo or @65swb45, or maybe both. I threw in my old distributor as Mark had suggested and it’s running like a Swiss Watch. At least so far so good. Why though? Well only thing I can see when I pulled my distributor is that the points gap is super...

Appreciate it Mark- will add to the list. I’m here picking up my daughter from volleyball so back to getting my hands dirty in a little bit. She made the high school team and now at club practice so this will be a busy year :) I’ve got a couple things to tackle and that’s been one of them. I...

So what else have I tried today… I cleaned the idle circuit then decided to pull the carb again to see if I missed anything. Float seems free, needle/seat look clean. Primary looks pretty wet with gas but maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be? Not sure what I should look for if it’s not. The only...

Thanks- I don’t have a booster but yeah I’m watching out for any leaks like that. The only light at the end of the tunnel with these things is the aha! moment when you find out what it is. Then add that to your memory bank for next time. Haha

I replaced those when we got back from off roading, fortunately I have Toyota parts. I was talking to Mark about why my points were so degraded after 3500 miles; so we were chatting about my coil.
