My truck makes a lot of noise from many different locations! If you want silence / like-new performance I'd suggest planning to change out the birf bearings

From what I could tell, they looked in great shape. The splines are straight. Many people replace the bearings in the birf during re-installation, not sure if it's required. Yes, I'd do $350 shipped.

They are out of my 1995. They are the same axle shafts at 1996.

stock front axle shafts and birfield joints. In good shape, I upgraded to RCV's. Asking $300, located in San Francisco, CA

I removed my ABS sensor from the old axle with an 8" puller I wanted to press it on the new axle, but my press doesn't have enough travel. I cut some wood so the birf could sit flat in the vice, it wasn't too bad.

@spyduh - check your exhaust manifold to j-pipe bolts. Mine were a bit loose, allowed in air / exhaust out, threw a P0172. Tightened them up and no issues.

@CJK - post pictures after you install the catch cans. I pulled mine, figured I’ll have to clean the plenum someday, replace some evap parts, but zero maintenance on the catch can would be a preferable tradeoff.
