    That's where the use of a semi flexible shield will direct the oil downward. If you don't do this the oil will certainly go on top of the skid plate.

    It's not difficult, just not as easy as pre skid install.

    Pre install it is best to have something in place to direct oil flow downward as opposed to rearward flow. I used a plastic file folder curled to fit inside the skid opening, after new valve install this won't be necessary.

    Best to check for any burrs or abrasions on drum and fairlead. Many use Delron rollers if sticking to roller fairlead.
