    Best battery for stock LX570?

I have bought Toyota True Start27F battery via parts.toyota.com yesterday with pick up from the local Toyota dealer. Let’s see how it does. My previous battery finally died couple days ago it was Lexus 27F battery installed by the dealer 01/21 and dated 09/20. Under the Lexus stickers there was...

Original Charcoal Cabin Air Filter and Low Airflow

Agree with gasman4u here. Why bother wasting time cleaning/washing. "El Chepo" paper filter goes into trashcan every second oil change after pollen season new one goes in the car. IMHO the whole K&N all about sales gimmicks, would not consider anything they have for a daily driver.

The Car Care Nut talks UR V8 blown head gaskets

Guys, I jumped on the “band wagon” and did, my coolant today. Here is a test strip picture. What seems to be added for me is that new coolant out of the bottle was close to natural pH and the one drained was closer to Alkaline first and last strips are control and didn’t dry yet, after they...

    LC200 Brakes - "Warping" Rotors every 10k

Just want to add to conversation. I just replaced front rotors, pads and pins with springs on my 2017 LX570. There reason been excessive vibration in steering wheel while braking off the highway speeds. Another symptom was a sporadic brake squeal before brakes warm up. Old rotors have been...

Original Charcoal Cabin Air Filter and Low Airflow

Just want to share with the community. Didn’t find any threads here on this topic. Recently I replaced my cabin air filter with Toyota charcoal filter (from the dealer). Right after the replacement I noticed that the airflow out the vents become super weak. Bought a regular el-cheapo paper...

Polishing headlight lenses / grille removal

Just want to add my 2 cents. I did headlight polishing in the past using Sylvania sealant afterwards on my Honda Accord. Initial results were basically like new. However, after one year under the Florida sun yellowing began to reappear. In the end got frustrated with the days’ worth of wasted...

    Cracked plastic oil filter housing

From whatever I understood, the problem with aftermarket is that there is no warranty that bypass valve spring is able to maintain the same pressure as in oem housing. That could potentially allow oil by pass all the time or oil starvation if the spring is too strong. Aluminum housing from...

    Cracked plastic oil filter housing

Same thing happened to me during the first oil change after a purchase of the cruiser. This happens because retards less intelligent technicians at the dealer ship over tighten it by a lot. Had to buy a replacement, after some research didn’t find metal one to be any better the plastic and just...

Why changing oil timely/frequently is good for your engine

Car Care Nut is a good youtuber and give very good recommendations. For a small 4 banger with little oil capacity - 5k/6month is justifiable. Even if something small with high compression and turbos I would say do it every 3-4K. However, 3UR-FE is a low stress engine with huge oil capacity that...

    Windshield wiper replacement recommendation?

When I first bought my truck, I order Toyota wiper blade inserts. It appeared previous owner replaced OEM wipers with generic wipers with Lexus logo on the mounting points. Was able to replace drivers side rubber insert and had to order OEM wiper blade for the passenger side (OEM insert didn’t...

ATF: Toyota WS vs Amsoil vs Idemitsu

Wow wow wow…. This debate is so heated!! Probably will beat the topics about best engine oil brands/viscosity for 200. On a serious note I would like to point out couple of week points in the arguments on both sides. 1. Toyota is a for profit corporation that does stuff for PROFIT, if it can...

ATF: Toyota WS vs Amsoil vs Idemitsu

I have replaced (full amount) Toyota WS ATF in my 2017 Lexus LX 8 Speed transition at 54K miles with AMSOIL Signature Series ATF. Initial feel was really good and transmission shifted silky smooth. 5K miles after everything is still super smooth without any issues whatsoever. My takeaway is...

Complete Transmission Flush DIY - VIDEO

IMHO you overthink it a little bit. Return line from AT to radiator is pumped immediately, however electric valve at the AT cooler inlet is closed (I am pretty sure it opens depending on AT temperature sensor, although, I didn't warmed it up to check it by myself). Yes, if you pull cooler lines...
