I just clipped and abandoned that terminal. I believe the instructions had an alternate mounting location for the new ground? As much as I wanted to get rid of it - it just wasn’t worth potentially cracking a hose and stranding the truck until I could get parts!

Ya know, I tore my steering column apart shortly after making that post and found the aforementioned “donut” was full of dog hair and grime! Super easy project, and they’ve worked perfectly for years now!
