2011 HVAC DTC 42 & 48 Codes / Passenger Vent Not Blowing Strong

Same problem and question but in a 2016. No codes. Add mouse damage to air cabin filter.

For Sale 80 series headlight washer

Sorry, I’ve been focusing on other addictions lately. My PO provided the parts when I bought my LC in 2016ish. I learned that it’d be a pain to retrofit it to a FZJ so I moved the parts along. I’m useless for part numbers. I didn’t even realize there were other responses to this thread after the...

    DIY Fuel Heating/Boiling Mitigation

The 80 series has the same issue. In that series it was because of a failed charcoal canister. My 200 series does not boil the fuel yet but when I was installing the aux tank I noticed that my charcoal canister pre-filter was loaded with fine dust. My P.O. spent a ton of time on fine dirt roads...

Did the LC200 just go up in value (more) after the 250 release?

I’ve enjoyed 3 years and 30k miles of zero depreciation. That being said, I hope they go down in value, I want a second 200.

Thoughts From the 200 Crew On the LC250 Reveal

Unfortunately, I’m fairly sure that my personal identity has become tied to the badge. These things get in your blood. Oh man… the official press release video… the engine noises! Those aren’t 4 cylinder noises! I’m fine now. Was depressed. Just along for the ride now. I like where the...

Thoughts From the 200 Crew On the LC250 Reveal

The new 70 series is a thing of beauty. Hopefully it’ll bring down the cost of the last Gen 76 series. Only 15ish more years until those are importable. I am going to leave it up to ARB to sell this Prado to me. In its current form I’m unimpressed. I was never giving up the 200 anyway. I’d...

Builds Bean! The Adventure Continues (1987 FJ60)

I’m a little late to the show. Excellent build thread! Just read the whole thing over the course of 5 hours. Just a little 80 series wisdom… 80 series birfs take moly grease. It’s generally dark grey or black. Maybe the red stuff you used is moly fortified, no clue. I’m not saying it’s mud...

    Changing the spark plugs

Excellent write up. Just did mine at 150k. They all looked fine and were still gapped to factory spec. After the change I gained .6 mpg; I’ll take what I can get.

80 vs 100 series at altitude

I can second that. 3rd Gen 4 runners are fun and have a good power to weight ratio. They’re also easy to work on (all the Toyota SUV’s are actually). Maintenance may be less expensive too. The Achilles Heal is the “milkshake” when the radiator fail’s internally, mixes coolant and trans fluid...

80 vs 100 series at altitude

My dad has a 100 series and my family owns a 80 and 200 series (I know a 200 wasn’t on the list). The power difference isn’t that substantial between the 80 and early 100 series in my opinion. The ride in the 100 is more comfortable than the 80 and the 100 is more convenient in most every way...

12.5 gallon LRA tank squeak… SOLVED!

No, I had more enough room by just loosening the u-bolts but not taking them completely off. I don’t remember how close it was to the tire carrier but it didn’t interfere. That tire carrier is a pain.

Rear Parking Sensor 2021 Heritage Edition

They aren’t that fragile… I installed some in an ARB. I usually screw up 50% of my projects and I didn’t even screw those up. Go OEM or you’ll regret it. I doubt they are fun to replace so I’d get it right the first time.

    My 200 Series Shakedown

For the mirror plastic I’d put money on buffing compound. I’ve been buffing my wife’s passenger side and that area collects a lot of compound. The buffer gets a little wonky in that area under the mirror. It’s the same color as 3m Machine Polish as well. It dries hard and can initially be hard...
