I did loose a complete lug down in JV.
I do think the Mud Hogs provide more traction in the conditions I have been in. Sandhollow, Dusy Ershim, and JV. The rear axle wrap at SH this year was so bad I finally built an anti wrap bar for the rear axle. Granted we did run the hardest trails yet...
Verify the ratios while you have them opened up. Rear looks fine to me. If the axle had any serious water the oil would have been a lot milkier in color.
Just order them with FJ80 holes for the tie rod and ream them out then add the drag link hole based on spacing and pitman arm length so you don’t loose any steering angle.
I agree with the Front Range knuckles. The arms are keyed and they can be ordered blank I believe put the holes wherever you want and whatever size. Ordered mine for FJ80 ends but slipped in GM 1tons for the tire rod.
To clarify a little @Broski 's front RCV axle shafts were OG 27 spline not the new 30 spline stuff they are selling now and definitely not the 300m stuff. In addition these shafts had more hard trails on them than most 80 owners are even willing to try. The Rubicon for this rig is just a...
@Broski 's ram is behind the axle yours is on the front... sooo if I'm not mistaken your left to right would be opposite. Or the ram it's self is flipped (extended vs collapsed)
I like the vents. seems fitting for your environment. more options for air flow vs. widows up with AC on.... Or a set of half doors for the nice weather and full window doors for when it get hot or cold/wet weather trips.
Fully committed...NICE JOB - I think twice on that climb both your front tires are off the round twice. OR at a minimum one tire and the other just barely touching.
I person would just have to make sure the 32 spline shafts have enough clearance on the FJ80 spindles. Do the 100 series hubs have the same bolt pattern to the axle flange? or drive flange and custom shafts? I'm guessing someone already knows the answer to these questions.
Where is the video of the truck up on the two step smokin those Iroks? On a serious note... Does Ben have a write up or magazine article on this sweet build?
