I did this swap on my Right Hand-drive 105LC and it worked out great. I was fortunate enough to be able swap my RH Aussie switch panel for a LH USA switch panel and just extend the wiring. The functionality of having the phone closer is great and it is not that often that you need to reach...
Great news that the Ashtray Replacement Mod is in design phase @BenCC , you are a legend! Since I have a RHD LC (Aussie) my preference would be for the 12V Aux and the USB ports to be on the left and have a series of OEM vertical switch slots to the right of that. That would be my Gold...
There is a good reason to take out the ashtray assembly....................and that will be to replace it with Ben's up coming replacement mount for everything.
M2V2 installed. While this may not seem too exciting for those in the USA, this is in a right hand drive vehicle. So had to swap my RHD Hazard /4WD switch to a LHD one (a big thanks to @Ayune for the swap) and perform some minor wiring mods and all works like a charm. Just need that ashtray...

Yep you are correct, also the battery voltage will not be exactly 12V either. Technically its about 875mA at 12 V with 100% efficiency under full load for each USB terminal configured for 2.1 Amps. Ballpark figures in the original just to indicate that fuse replacement is really not necessary
Had mine on for 20 years and we do some serious trails. Bent them a couple of times but they straighten out (sort of). Not cheap to replace with OEM (at least not here in Australia) but ebay has some cheaper ones that look OK if you like the look.
Having had my LC100 for over 20 years now, they are a great vehicle. You will not regret the purchase, the only problem is always what to do next to it.
15 Amp fuses on the Cig Lighter and 12V outlet, most you would draw from a single USB is 2,1 Amp, or 4.2 Amps if running dual USBs, cig Lighter generally draws around 10 Amps. You shouldn't need to change your fuse.
