Who still uses their 45 for work?

Not woosiness, a fair bit to go wrong with that situation. There was noone within reach of the rope other than me in the cab though, and the rope used was low stretch soft braid with 4800kg breaking strain so was pretty comfortable with breaking risk. Less comfortable with tree heading the way...

Who still uses their 45 for work?

He scared me a little, after I made the cuts and was about to pull he wandered straight into the drop zone

Who still uses their 45 for work?

Justified my flatdeck 45 purchase partly based on needing a work horse for the block, nice to find I wasn't completely deluding myself :) 20180916_112104.mp4 20180916_130805.mp4

New (old) BJ45 flatdeck from NZ

Thanks all. From my reading of this site and others, the later model 40s got a different transmission tunnel cover that prevents the H55F case from fouling, though the shifter output from non-40 series boxes will still be 3-4" back and therefore require cutting new holes to allow these to come...

New (old) BJ45 flatdeck from NZ

Thanks man, it's true that I'd have to cut new holes for the trans and transfercase shifters though no? Other than being able to use a later model transfer, is the rear drum mounted handbrake provision that much better than the one off back of t/c? Also I'm assuming new d/shafts would be on the...

New (old) BJ45 flatdeck from NZ

Yeah there's the odd brown stain starting to appear outa joins in the odd spot, but is remarkably clean compared to most (all) I looked at when shopping for one. Re wheels, there'll be some new steels on the cards at some stage, not a big fan of the white though. In other news been...

New (old) BJ45 flatdeck from NZ

Hey cruiser heads, after 10+ years outa the cruiser owning/building game I picked up a new truck and she is a beaut. Is a 1984 BJ45 RP-K3 flatdeck, ie the very last year of the 40 series cruisers. Is running the original 3B and 4 speed so thinking longer term upgrades will be 5 speed, turbo and...

    Rotw/m? Lt1-62

Thanks tinker and others for the kind words, the space afforded by the body lift is definitely usefull unless you ever wanna remove the body lift in which case your s***e outa luck. Im prolly gonna go SOA and would have considered removing the bodylift to do so, but alas that wont be happening...

    Swing down tyre carrier?

I agree swing up sounds great, and the steel TJM roof tray would probably be OK to lever off of, but making something functional, robust and that looks good would be quite a challenge I think...

    Swing down tyre carrier?

Im definitely keen to fab something to suit the rear bumper, I actually have a JDM HJ61 factory swing out carrier that I was gonna try and make work but it was made to work with the fold up/down tailgate. I'll probably use the latching mechanism and the wheel mounting face of that carrier and...

    Swing down tyre carrier?

The bumper that I built doesnt have enough room at the corners to accomodate the spindle and still allow the doors to swing fully open. If I mount a hinge type joint high on the rear face yet below the top plane of the bumper, the carrier could swing down out of the way allowing the rear doors...

    Swing down tyre carrier?

I remember seeing one of these here on mud a while ago, where the carrier swings down as opposed to left or right. My minimalist custom rear bumper and swing out doors means making a swing out carrier will be a PITA, have got a swing down design in mind that incorporates a ladder, but would love...
